I'm at a loss at E-5. Nothing has worked.

I mean, I even managed to get to the boss in perfect health and still got five ships hit to red!

E7 done; started at hard but when at the last dance nothing when right even if I had some close kill wasn't on my side so I switched to easy and killed the boss in only 7 sortie. So my E7 was 59 sortie in hard, 7 in easy, the best drop were 1 Harukaze (A-Victory in hard) 2 Zuikaku, 1 Mutsu 1 Hayashimo ( S-victory in easy). I still have Oyashio to get but I will try for a U511 before that.

Try my setup and boss support. If you manage to disable a Ru, even under AD you should be fine.

EDIT: Guys, can I have E-7 comp, one for Kidou Butai and one for Suijou Butai? Need one that can reliably chip boss without burning too much bauxite first :|

Haguro just HAD to aim for the chuuha Ru instead of the Lycoris Hime. 269/680

It is pointless to regret "wrong aim" incident, because there is no way to tell if you could "really" finish the boss off. Considering Lycoris' armor (100+), it is possible even for full health Haguro/Choukai to fail.
If the boss was under 100hp, "maybe", but 200+ is not the safe zone at all.

Installation boss encounter should never account for casual snipe. Either you completely crush the boss formation, or you have a very lucky aim and damage roll. Merely expecting a snipe is clearly not the good mindset there.

Personally, I just wish Fubuki would fire her AACI. It's bad enough I'm stuck at E6 due to loss of air superiority. It's worse that she keeps stubborn about shooting planes down.

How are you losing air superiority? That shouldn't happen, use more fighters then.

Use an Akizuki DD or Maya. Fubuki (and any other kanmusu) AACI is hardly effective for event maps.
And there is something REALLY wrong if you can't maintain air superiority in E6. Also, remember that AACI doesn't affect air superiority at all.

Tripe. I meant E5. Also, I made the stupid mistake of getting all my kai ni girls into the 80s over leveling functional girls like my akizuki. So my AACI hopes and dreams are pinned purely on Fubuki's RNG.

Just bruteforce it with one Akizuki class. As long she is fully modernized and remodeled already, having 1 underleveled kanmusu shouldn't pose that much of an issue.

Well, this time boss support smashed the transport and two DDs, but I could never get enough on the double Ru to take them down. If only...

EDIT: The map is clearly the most rubbish of all the ones I have encountered. I have sunk YET another 30k ammo into this, taking my expense to 150k total. AND STILL ON LAST DANCE.

With LBA and Tsu class littering around the map... not that I can think of...

The amount of bauxite and fuel determines whether if you can go for hard or not for E7, as air raids and other mechanics can drain your resource pool.

Remember, lack of resources is what eventually turned the Japanese back and kept their navy in port. That and a shortage of trained manpower.

Finished E-3 last night, did the runs in 2 hours only taking 5 attemps and since I didn't had daihatsu capable DD I used 12 drums to get the job done.

Compared to E-2, E-3 is far easier, except for those PT imps. I hate those bastards, one of them was able to send a fully modernized Takao from full to 1 hp on the torpedo phase (this happened 3 times). But well, not everything is bad, Yuu and Iku dropped on the last 2 runs.
