In the manga, way back in chapter 3, Taurus helped Natsu, Happy, and Lucy save Macao from falling into a ravine to his death after he got taken over by a Vulcan and beaten, which sent him crashing through a hole in the cave wall. If not for his brute strength, everyone would have fallen. In fact, if it weren't for Taurus, Lucy never would have been able to destroy one of the lacrimas powering Nirvana. Then there's Aquarius, who pushed the fake Salamander's ship to the harbor to rescue the kidnapped girls, washed Sherry out of her giant Rock Doll and get her dizzy so Lucy could beat her by hand, and pinned Vidaldus Taka in place so Lucy and Juvia could get a good shot at him. Cancer was responsible for landing the finishing blow on Duke Everlue, and Horologium pulled various rescues (he summoned himself automatically to save Lucy from the crumbling Nirvana and from being sucked into the Anima portal, as well as Wendy against Hades's ultra-powerful technique). In Edolas, Virgo even provided the Fleuve d'étoiles whip to Lucy, and even Scorpio and Aries were vital in saving Lucy from those guards. Did you really think Natsu and Wendy, who couldn't use their magic and totally sucked at using their weapons, were responsible for saving Lucy, the strongest wizard of Fairy Tail at the time? And don't even get me started on Leo...

Leo and Capricorn are the only two that seem fit for any serious fighting. Every thing else is just a joke.

According to the score, Juvia and Gray got a few offpanel touch though.

The RT guy finished at +8 and got all his touches from FT and got -2 for being found by Sabertooth and failing at attacking him, so he got 10 at least 10 touches on FT. FT got at least -2 from touching decoys. So they should total -12 (-11 with the Leon panty shot), yet they totaled +1.

From the way Mashima drew it, they sucked completely, but they must have owned the other teams to manage to simply even their score.

No, no, no...their scores in the matches only matter for the final placements, the final score is only related to the placements as we've seen before. Sabertooth guy got 10 points for finishing in first place, regardless of how many points he got during the match. He could have gotten 30 points during the match and still only get 10 points for his team in the end.
Same thing with Gray, he had a negative score, putting him in last place so he only received 0 points for the team. Juvia got 1 point because she had less of a negative score than Gray, meaning she was placed above him in the final placements.

Right, I didn't pay attention, I thought it was the ranking of the event, which would have been more interesting than the overall standings after one event.

Now I'm really in the mood to see the next chapter for two major reasons: one, to see what kind of power Lucy can dish out with her increased strength; two, to see what kind of magic Flare can use (imagine if she ends up being another celestial wizard...); three to see if Lucy will at least get a tie, because I really can't stand to stick around with those heckling pricks known as the tournament's general audience. I know their expectations of Fairy Tail have plummeted for understandable reasons, and I'm positive they'll rethink just how weak the guild is by the end of the tournament, but still, their "Fairy Tail sucks herpaderp" attitude gets me just as pissed as Gray is at those two driving forces for his pure, unadulterated rage. And if Gray says he'll get payback, then goddammit, Hiro's gonna let him have payback.

Well, Juvia was sure to follow Gray around, and while Gray himself possesses power, he has nothing to compete against Rufus (overkill tracking and homing magic?) or the guy who thinks he's Zetsu. Only Eve actually did something from the other teams, who were just playing tag trying to see who uses magic.
Anyway, I liked the chapter, I don't think anyone was dumbed down. Losing a point for wrong attacks bars massive AoE offense, and showing their true potential in the game could have meant trouble for the battles that follow. First fight of the day, psychotic blonde-hater Flair vs Lucy! I want it to be another voodoo magic user

Crimrui Hollow Join Date: May 2008 Location: Mecha cockpit	Spoiler for Chapter 270: Awesome chapter. I loved the outcome and it was fun to see some powers from other guys. Corona looks scary, wonder how Lucy will do. Hope they finish the battle soon though, because I really want to see B Team fight, like Mirajane, Gajeel and Laxus. Poor Gray, he would have done better if that Raven Tail member didn't stick to him like a glue. Juvia only scored one point because Lyon was looking at her panties. Fried would have been a better choice if you ask me. Oh, and Gray, why did you strip down again? That clothes really suited you, put it back on! __________________
