Well, I dont like grimdark. It often tranlates to emo and dark for darkness sake.

For the Bad future in FI

The Black guys/gals are the PT cleanup crew while the uniformed guys are either government spec ops or a UN investigation team

Just replace the tyrant with a smaller IS.

Coincidentally enough, most of the guys from PT clean up fill the correct nationality. The guy with the gas mask is Japanese along with the other girl, The woman who orders them around is French, The woman with the machete is German, The guy sniping is Russian etc etc.

I like qualified dark...

Cause then there's always a tiny spark of light at the end, and that's what I want the fic to translate to, dark-dark-dark-darker....then peace

I meant that most fics go Dark, dark, dark, dark, and downer ending.

I like to define my downer endings.... Like the hero dying.... If that's the way it seems to be going then, that's the way I'm sticking to, but the hero will pull some type of gambit that even if he dies, he wins

I guess I just swing that way when it comes to stories, it even shows with the anime I watch...sort of.

The Bad future in FI is extremely bleak and pretty screwed. Hell, one of the Future ops there gets sent back and pretty much nearly kills the cast. This being IS, he's friends with them a few chapters later and attending the festival together

Light bending around an object and not escaping... Problem with that is the user can't see due to light not escaping

I think I'll lean towards defense technique lessons. But the students still use their katanas while the instructor teaches them ways to defend against lance-type weapons and beam-based ranged weaponry.

Plays a part for the students in their school defense when the drone assault comes.

Also, turning in for the night. I'll read any replies you guys may have tomorrow. :3

Bending waves.

In this case, the unit produces either field or gas that made itself appear as transparent bubbles. The effectiveness may vary of course, you can detect them using distortion sensor but the accuracy is meager.

There also the fact that complete stealth made you blind and deaf, so the stealth is not complete in conventional sense (the sensor is exposed), just that it's VERY hard to hit using automatic lock-on. Area Saturation is the only effective tactic.

I try to explain that tactical cloaking makes the user blind due to the light bending, by counteracting with SONAR vision.... but still that's a stretch at best
