For me, Touma defeating Accelerator was more interesting. Because it shows to Accelerator for the first time in his life that not everything that he had believe was absolute. All his preconceptions about the world suddenly had doubt and began to question that if he could be defeated, than maybe he wasn't a monster after all. And if that's the case, what else was he wrong about? Is he actually capable of doing good? Can he try to do good?

I mean the process since the events that involves him makes changes of his way of thinking.
- Lost to Touma, begins to question if himself has changed. Though he has no idea on what.
- Meets Last Order, regrets his sins and tries to save people for first time.
- Accepts Last Order's request to prevent any reconstruction of the Tree Diagram.
- Protects both, Index and Last Order even if his powers are limited. Somehow Index's chant moves Accelerator despite he thinks he belongs to the darkness.
- Aftermath: Darkness <---Credits to Kihara Amata and the B.o.D.
- Orders A.C. army to not attack the whole Avignon but the Popes Palace(where Touma and Itsuwa were fighting Terra).
- Pacification of Underground organizations, applies morals on his fights protecting all the bystanders, but Yomikawa gets pwned.
- Aftermath: More Darkness<----Credits to Kakine Teitoku and Just As Planned Aleister.

Despite all he still aches for light, without caring how much he sees a monster of himself, he still tries to protect.
Of course, throwing himself more to Darkness isn't going to work very well.

Then you have the WW3 where meets Touma and the last change on Accelerator is done.

This is what I get from that:
So basically, he meets Touma and loses, then begins to question himself.

The more he tries to do good and claw his way into the light, the more the Darkness tries to to pull him back.

THen, when he is finally fully immersed in the Dark, an insane Accel meets Touma who basically beats him up and tells him "STFU. You have someone to protect, right? Then do it!" and Accel finds himself once more in the light.

Right?

I'm beginning to see why Accel sees Touma as a True Hero. Poor guy will never compare.

It pains me to see how Accel keeps getting dragged back into the darkness every time he tries to find a way out. Give the guy a break already.

The current battle against Misha is the proof of it. Accelerator didn't use black wings mode here.

As long as he's Gakuen Toshi's second backup Angel after Hyouka (embodied by his Black Wings), he will be steeped in darkness. It's like an integral part of his nature.

That's all in a nutshell. His broken already at first with ubber hax ability. Then got broken literally turning into an esper which can't use it's ability and talk or even do movements on it's own but due to the network. He came back with half his computational ability but with his defeat from the hero he learns some other move other than vector massacre the enemy. After climbing back again just to be pummeled down to the deepest darkness and gain the black wings. After it getting more stronger than ever up to the point in vol 21 he start learning angelic runes and language and finally in vol 22 with the help of Hyouka he finally evolve into a fully fledged ANGEL

If he is an angel, he would be the fallen one : Lucifer.

what? chthullu? I doubt it. It if'ts a lot worst then I prefer it to be an unknown being. A new unknown being. That's why magic and science combine can't explain it.

Accelerator's evolution show his change of heart and mind.
