Great episode and we finally see Kira show (regain) some backbone... and some nice a**kicking for the ninja-mooks.
Something I don't quite understand, and which someone with some better insight might clarify, is how this nobilty stuff fits into SS. In the beginning of Bleach you had SS and the 13 Protection squads appeared to lead it (from their room 44, which I thought was described kinda like their administration). Shortly after that noble families were introduced - the Kuchiki clan. But those still seemed to be under the shinigami jurisdiction. Then in last arc suddenly there is the king (where did he come from?) And now you get another noble family which apparently is lower in status than the Kuchiki family but seems to get better treatment. And hopefully, old man Yamamoto has some ace up his sleeve and isn't the bumbling politician that he appears. I think the chaos of this episode (shinigami engaging each other) is part of his ploy to get more support for Amagi's plan of cooperation. |
