I believe he is referring to the part where Raku was only attracted to Onodera, and he and Chitoge hated each other. You know, back when it was something different and fresh.

I meant compared to a traditional harem series. It was a hell of a lot better when it was about them pretending to be lovey-dovey while being observed than when it became a less explicit To Love Ru.

I've been saying that its a less explicit TLR for a while ha as for fanservice there really isn't all that much and it seems like the first 50 chapters and the last 20 or so are a different manga entirely.
