I meant during their plane crash not after it I thought that his position during the chaos had anything to do with his whereabout after the plane crashed I guess I was wrong about it..
I wonder if there are other persons out there that got stranded just like Akira did... Quote:

Yeah, I think the scanlation is catching up to where I left off. What impressed me with what I read is that it's doing a pretty good "Lost" style survival story but it's not just mysteries piled up on mysteries: there are mysteries, and there are mysteries on top of those mysteries, but the basic outline seems pretty clear (and relatively mundane, more "realistic" like Jurassic Park and less like "The Mist" or whatever).
I think the pacing on the pyramid exploration is some of the best I've seen in this genre. |

I'm still curious on what happened to the laboratory that killed all of the researchers. If it's something like poison gases or some dangerous radiation, would they still be in that island and might endanger all of the people in there?

What do you mean by when? Are you saying that they might be in a different era? If so, then, how did that happened(lol, asking something that isn't revealed yet? ) It's like they were transferred to a different dimension while they were in the plane

^ Yeah that's what I think also. Maybe I misinterpreted what he said and make my own conclusion that they might be in the future or maybe that the story takes place 50 years or something in the future? I hope that's what he is pointing.

That island has been abandoned for decades it seems
additionally it also serves as Mina's grave also remember that according to the characters, scientists only managed to graft a human ear to a mouse recently. And they have also failed to clone revive a mammoth. So I conclude that the installation is simply too advanced for something that has been in operation for a few decades if this were present time.

The Human ear grown on a mouse was back in 2006, the Mammoth cloning project is still being work on.
I am guessing the is at least 100yrs in the future due to the plant growth, no forest is going to be this big after only a few decades. And a bit of a pet peeve about this chapter. I am really starting to get sick of hearing how there are things science shouldn't mess with, especially form people with no science background. Pushing the boundary of science didn't start wars that got millions kill, pushing the boundaries is what eradicate Chicken Pox and put a man on the moon.
