Wow, that episode went by fast, faster than usual anyway. I really liked all the scenes in Sion's office (both the teasing ones and the serious ones) and it's nice that Sion at least suspects that Miran is up to something. Of course, given that Sion was doubting his own intentions a few episodes back who knows where that'll end up going.

The assassins didn't even try to kill the princess, but made an attempt to get rid of Claugh. All fingers point to Miran's doing.

Once again, it looks like Sion is giving Miran a blank check and purposely avert his eyes for self-justification.

When the assassins came, they are only there to humiliate her with the intention of sexually assaulting her, but Claugh's psychic power changed that. As soon as they realize he's coming back, they had to begin setting up traps to fight him. The traps worked and injured his arm in the process.

Noa realized that these guys' intentions were to kill and humiliate her as a warning to anger the people in her nation to instigate another war. Difference is the assassin asked her to strip, and she agreed so that she can suicide so she won't die by their hands, but the assassin realized this and stopped her, hence commending the forceful strip, they also tied her limbs up and gagged her.

After Claugh saved her, the first thing she asked was about his injured arm, disregarding her own state. Upon Claugh's questioning her tears, then she remembered her situation and clarified that she was not assaulted then broke down in tears. She recovered really fast after that. In the novel, Noa's tears are precious since she will put on her leader face until the very end, hence the scene where Claugh holding her in his arms is a pretty good treat.

Claugh apologized for being late, but she said she wasn't afraid because being a princess she already had these type of experiences. She could joke soon after as Claugh was smiling at her, and she said it is not nice to laugh at a lady. Claugh commented that she is amazing that she could still lie that she wasn't afraid.

Noa responded that she maybe is putting on a front and somehow knew that he would come back for her, but was even more surprised that he actually came back. She said she really wouldn't be afraid next time (now that Claugh would be there for her). Claugh said it would be annoying if he has to save her again. Noa said that helping damsels in stress is Claugh's job, and asked if he is unsatisfied that she is the one that he is rescuing. Claugh muttered a "no" as well as "it wasn't any trouble" ... also that next time he would get there even faster, which brought a genuine smile to Noa's face.

So they aren't entirely the same. I am a complete loser for cheesy scenes, hence why I wished they AT LEAST added that scene with her and Claugh after.

Ryner's 'rescue' was well done. The sound of rain with the embrace gave it a lot of impact.

I like the Claugh+Noa pairing. I was hoping to see Claugh kick ass, though, but they skipped right over it.

for those who said it was Froaude who was behind the attack, no it's not. Froaude is not the type of person who will not admit his own deeds, even if it's done autonomously without Sion's knowledge, and in the episode he already denied it.

I was actually surprised when I read that scene, because it was slightly different from what I had seen in the PV2. Then I re-watched the PV2 and later this episode and thought the anime delivered this scene much better than the LN did. I think the author wanted to add a bit of comedy where it simply didn't fit at all, and the people from the anime decided to fix that. Although, they screwed up with the scene with Claugh and Noa.

I still think the pacing of the anime is a bit odd, and it should be fixed.

Milan continues to be quite the interesting character. I really wonder what he's after by being in Sion's side. Any other opportunistic rat would've been more than delighted to get his services, but despite what one may think of Milan's methods, he's apparently a very loyal guy.

Sion is really playing with fire by keeping him around.

I'm glad nothing happens to Lady Noa. Sure, I like fanservice too, but the context of her disrobement makes the entire spectacle quite sickening. I'm glad Claugh gets there in time.

Well another interesting episode. I really feel bad for the uncomfortable position that Sion is constantly in. Being a king really does suck at times like these. If he had the time he could slowly make changes and improve the country. But if war is on the horizon he needs the country unified and that won't happen fast enough. Balancing lives like this isn't a fun thing, well unless your Milan .

Nice save by Claugh. He's a pretty good guy and like the pairing with Noa. Those guys got exactly what they deserved. If they thought an injury like that would stop an enraged Claugh they were sadly mistaken.

Also good work by Ferris. Like the partnership between them at moments like this. Getting rid of the slapstick for a moment and focusing on what matters. If it wasn't for her words he wouldn't have stopped before killing her. Those eyes going berserk is damn dangerous. The next time could be pretty ugly.

Wonder how Ryner feels about going to save that kid. Might feel angry at some level that the kid will be saved and that someone cared enough to ask for him to be saved when no one did the same for him.

Not saving him would have had consequences of its own of course with the consequnces being good or bad in the long run regardless of the short time consequences.

Miran doesn't like the nobles. I think he mentions being adopted for his natural gifts or something. He can identify with Shion, I think is one of the things that draws him to Shion.

Shion is the bastard son of the previous king, the son raised in exile. He's attracted young nobles and commoners alike for his background. Everyone seems to be attracted to his "kind" and level headed personality. They seem him as a messianic figure, as someone who can reform the government and lead the people into a new age of peace and equality.

The series distinguishes the struggle between the ambitions of the senior and the younger generations. Most of the villains so far are middle aged to elderly men. Shion's officers are young men in their teens and twenties. The age gap between the the bad guys and the good guys is highlighted.

Well, episode 10 was surprisingly good, considering we already knew how berserk ryner was going to be handled from pv2. Claugh and Noa were entertaining and it's good to see a different side of Claugh now that he is in love with Noa. Hopefully they will now pay attention on fleshing out the characters instead of just introducing new characters.

One question about the LNs (non-spoiler, of course), is there any news on when is vol. 9 coming out? So far, the author has been releasing 2 volumes per year. However, this year, the second release (i.e. vol. 8) came out during June, which is rather early. So, is there any hope for vol. 9 to be released sometime this year, or will it definitely be released on the next one? Well, I guess another possibility is that, instead of another volume of Dai Denyuden, we get another volume of Kuro, which, I believe, has already been announced.

Sounds like Ferris/Ryner part was enhanced , but at the expense of Noa/Claw part, which is a pity

My only problem with this show thus far, is that gay-bahaving schemer, he takes too much screen-time with boring exposition (and his annoying ring flashing), at the expence of action, plot, character developement, drama, and humor
