LOL, I'm getting the feeling that you're gay for Suzaku Kid (oh that's right, you are)

But yeah, you're probably right that it would've remained mostly the same for her (except she probably wouldn't have died). Shame we didn't get to see more of her ambitions outside of winning Lulu's heart.

Hum, since one of the biggest traits on her character was swimming, i would say that she would probably try to be a great swimmer and, someday, even getting to the olympics. With Suzaku's aid, of course. ;D But yeah, since Shirley's biggest characteristic was her love, it's hard to say. Well, she wasn't fond of Lelouch for a lot of time, maybe if they showed some flashbacks aside from the one she starts to like him...

About me being gay for Suzaku, well, i guess it's really obvious, huhuhu.

Well, I guess that's the question of the day: did Shirley really have a passion for swimming or was it just a hobby? Well, I definitely wouldn't rule out that she could become a professional athletic swimmer anyway. But if she didn't have any major goals in mind I guess she could get a simple job like a teacher or a secretary or something.

All I know is that she looks hot in a swimsuit and god knows I do not want to be kicked by her. Swimmer legs hurt, I've been on the receiving end of one.

I didn't like Code Geass that much, but Shirely was a good characters. It was sad that she died.

Her cycle had started anew and I wasn't aware of it. And then I did something decidedly stupid, which I won't get into right this moment.

Heh, okay then.

Ha ha, I would really like to see that! Ah Shirley, she could've been the Sanji of Code Geass (......please tell me most people here have seen One Piece)

Ha ha, well we all know that Shonen heroes pwn everyone else when it comes to strength. Unfortunately it's the wrong genre. Still, Shirley could give Lelouch a good wallop with those fancy legs

After one too many case of Can't Spit it Out, Shirley decides to do something. At a main corridor in Ashford...

Shirley (beaming): Lelouch?
Lelouch: What is it?

*kick that sends him flying down the corridor*

Shirley (after a pat down): Nothing cures block-headedness like a good kick!

LOL. That's awesome! Hmm, this has gotten me excited.

An alternate version of Lelouch standing her up in Turn 12.

Shirley: Lelouch!

Lelouch: *surprised* Ah, Shirley. Sorry about our date, but...

Shirley: Collier!

*kicks him in the neck*

Shirley: Epaule!

*kicks him in the shoulder*

Shirley: Cotelette!

*delivers a swift kick to his ribs*

Shirley: Selle!

*fiercely kicks him in the lower back*

Shirley: Poitrine!

*lands a dominating kick on his chest*

Shirley: Gigot!

*mercilessly kicks his legs*

Shirley: Mouton Shot!

*delivers a powerful final blow to his stomach, sending him flying. The large group of students look on in awe.*

Shirley: *to the other students* So, we're clear who Lelouch belongs to now?

Of course what would also be awesome is if she put him in a headlock in between her thighs

Why, we'll be making her into someone out of Ikkitousen next.

Hmm, never saw that show actually. All right, just one more.

Alternate version of Turn 14

Rolo: Thank goodness brother. She was going crazy and chasing you with a gun.

Lelouch: Rolo. So it was you.

Rolo: Yes brother.

Shirley: Dumbass

*Lelouch are shocked as Shirley miraculously rises from the ground*

Shirley: If you're going to lie, at least say something more believable.

Rolo: Impossible! I killed you!

Shirley: You think a small wound like this could kill me?

*Shirley starts spinning around really fast. She stops and her right leg glows red*

Rolo: Wh-what the?

Shirley: Diable Jambe

*Shirley prepares to deliver a flying kick to Rolo, but Rolo activates his Geass. However, the momentum is too great and the kick continues even after the Geass activates. The kick connects, sending Rolo flying. Shirley makes a smooth landing as the Geass deactivates.*

Shirley: God creates food, and the Devil creates the seasoning. I guess I spiced him up a little too much.

Okay, moving onto a more serious discussion. What do you all make of Shirley and her impact on the show? Do you think there was anything beyond her just being a tragic character? Do you think her death was meaningless? Do you think she had some powerful long-term affect on the series?

Given that female on male violence is apparently justified tropewise by males generally being the stronger gender, Shirley beating up on Lelouch would just be sadistic given how frail the latter is to begin with.

Eh, someone needs to knock some sense into him. I think his ego can take it.

It's not his ego you should be worried about. More like his ribs.

True. Or his spine, or his brain, or his insert vital body organ here

I think that Shirley, like Euphy, was a symbol of innocence and naivety. And when she died, it had a similar effect on Lelouch as Euphy's death did on Suzaku. Their deaths were both turning points in the series.

... but enough on similarities between her and Euphy. Ahm.

IMO, she was a symbol of the simple happiness that Lelouch was never able to attain. She kept a certain normality in the series, and served as a tie between Lelouch and his ordinary, comfortable life. Her death in the second season served as the "all-downhill-from-here" point, setting it firmly on the path of unhappy ending IMO. She kept it... happy and silly, and you'll notice that after she died there was no more of that.

... I think I'm repeating myself. But... yeah. Shirley wasn't just a tragic character, she was a symbol of the degradation of ordinary happiness under stressful circumstances (omgs, I'm getting all English IB-speech here), as well as a really sweet, decent person. ):
