Was doing my usual browsing for reference material - came across this photo. No idea who the model is or I would credit her.

Luckily YenPress has pushed forward the release of Volume 10, we should be getting it this December, just three months after the release of Vol.9

I read the acceleration that they're trying to finish the series but the sales are fading (very common with long series). This is one of the longest light novel series translations I can think of and only the hardcore are likely to finish it.

Naturally, this should raise concerns about quality control in production and translation. We'll just have to see.

May I ask for a link where you can read about this?

Well, there's only like five volumes of LN that YP has not announced yet, so I would like to believe they are planning to finish it.

Now as for the manga, I would not be surprised if they stopped after a few more volumes.
I'm not even sure how long the original Japanese releases will go on.

Ah, sorry, slangy English. I meant that the acceleration IMPLIED to me that they were racing the budget and the clock to finish the series. Readership on ANY series drops off substantially and this is one of the longest series (manga or LN of mature romance) I can recall making it into English.

I think the JP manga is still rolling but yes - very few manga adaptations of LN series make it to the finish. I'm also collecting the Toradora manga adaptation and it is still rolling as far as I know.

Yeah, I just saw that and was going post the whole Volume 10 of manga news... I just hope they stick with it... I would be quite miffed if they were to drop the series.

Additionally, if you consider the rate of the manga, I figure maybe 10 more volumes will finish it, though I would love to see more.

I have to keep buying the Japanese release regardless of whether it gets the English treatment. I can slog through it the hard way if I have to do so.

They have to cut out many important events if they want to finish it in 10 more volumes.

I'm not worried about the LN, and if YP decides to drop the manga, I could always buy the German releases. At least they don't have the Mature sticker on the cover and Vol.9 has already been released.

Woah, the German release is already at 9?!?!

Yeah, the reason I say I think they could do it in 10 more is because they have already jumped a lot of content and if they jump any Side Colors content that will free up space (though I don't wish a stories to be skipped).

Yeah, I hate that dumb "mature" label!

I got mine... all 4... just missing one from Volume 5... and the announcement bonus postcard before the launch of Volume 1.

Will see if they appear for sale once the series ends... I will pay big to get them!

Spice and Wolf Manga's Final Arc Starts in 13th Volume
Quote:
The 12th volume of Keito Koume's manga adaptation of Isuna Hasekura's Spice and Wolf (Ōkami to Kōshinryō) light novels revealed on Thursday that the manga series will enter its final arc in the 13th volume.
So how many LN volumes it adapted before it was canceled? On side note, it sux that in my country publisher choose manga adaptations over LN and I will be forced to import Yen Press release to know how story had ended.

Edit:
Quote:
MediaWorks published the novels Japan, and shipped the 16th and final volume in February 2011.
Someone needs to tell ANN that S&W had 17 volumes.
