Uhhh, wasn't there a very big commotion about the mistranslation of a line in eps 3? Where it was supposed to be a 'he' rather than a 'she'? And considering it was a swordsman connected to Raimei, and that the pink haired person in the OP is a swordsman, then definitely the pink haired person in the OP is a male.

Oh yeah, him being very flat in the OP made me think he was male in the first place.

The pink-haired samurai from the OP (who, as many have already inferred, is also the person mentioned in ep 3) is a man, even though the hairstyle and colour are kind of weird for a male. I have read the manga, so I'm completely sure about it.

A boy with a unstoppable force sealed inside him at a young age, all alone in the world who joins a team consisting of a girl, another boy and a young and goofy but skilled master to learn the ways of friendship and the ninja. Feels like de'ja vous, where have I seen this before? Oh, right...

Well obvious comparisons aside, as I'm sure they've already been made multiple times in this thread, Nabari no Ou actualy hasn't been bad so far. Nice art style and some slick animation especially during the combat. The extra violence adds a bit more of an adult flavor to the mix with some interesting villains on the side to help even things out.

I don't know if it's been mentioned yet, but one little thing bugging me is Rokujo's VA (Rie Kugimiya). Generally I don't mind women voicing boys; for example Hayate Ayasaki (Ryoko Shiraishi) from Hayate no Gotoku, but in this case it's just too feminine. I suppose for Nabari no Ou the casting choice fits considering Rokujo's feminine personality, but it's too obvious for me.

Caught up with this series and I'm hooked now. Episode 3 was pretty intense. I actually began to fear for the heroes' safety, particularly the teacher's (forget his name). Although in retrospect, they probably won't get rid of him so early since the flashback in episode 2 is still rather vague.

My only problem was the inconsistency in the henchmen's ability. When Kouichi and Raimei arrive on the scene they seem to struggle a bit against the ninjas but then soon afterwards, the two heroes easily trash them.

I saw the anime first and thought it was interesting enough to check out the manga as well but I was a bit surprised that they switched the fighting role between Mahiru and Kouichi during that scene in the anime when Kouichi slashed the ninja guy with that large ninja-star thingy. Too bad. It would have be interesting to see Mahiru take action like that.

even before they got to fuuma village, miharu was already starting to use simple ninja techniques. It makes me wonder when the writers are going to show that in the anime. I also don't get it why they had to cut that part.

Up to volume 8 (probably 24 episodes worth at least) the only kissing I saw was between the teacher and his wife. Yoite and Miharu do become quite close however, I think they change each other a great deal.

There wasn't much action in this episode (except a little sparring), but it built up to the exciting end, where both groups (Kairoushu and Fuuma) head out to find the scrolls of all of the villages' Forbidden Techniques in order to find a way to seperate the Shinra Banshou from Miharu. So it turned out to be a good episode, despite the underwhelmingly boring Fuuma characters.
On the map, there are kanji besides the village names. I assume these are techniques exclusive to the village, since one read "Kira" and another read "Transformation Technique".

How unfortunate that Yoite decided to leave. From what I've seen, taking on nameless grunts and a few named ninjas don't seem like much problem for his finger. At least kill one... Hey, massacre them. No ones going to cry or anything... After all, they're "shinobis". *smirk*

By the way, after watching Code Geass, Fuuma's speech was very pathetic compared to Lelouch's. Kind of sad to see all of them so motivated after that powerless speech...
Though I must say... I'm seriously getting tired of people with Fuuma's personality... Whether it's that headmaster from Vampire Knight or otherwise... Can't they find a better way to make a comedic personality than "Serious man who suddenly becomes silly like an idiot"?

Anyways, Kairoushu and that old man (what was it, Hatori Tojuurou?) proves to be way more intelligent then the Fuuma village. They use modern technology along with basic ninjitsu. Plus, they don't all dress like ninjas and stick out like sore thumbs like Fuuma, and actually works in society. As such, I'm siding with Kairoushu. Don't like Fuuma anyways.

Miharu is as enjoyable of a character as ever. Also like how he inserts random funny comments within his sentences.
But, hey, lucky for him, regardless of who finds the technique to separate the Shinra Banshou from him, he gets freed from it.

And, Raimei was just annoyingly loud this episode...

The Kairoushu are some pretty dam serious ninjas. I lawled so much when they even had their own website for important news (thats something positive for a change, bets sending people to do manual labour ). Kira has some serious mental problems though...he is a killer with a short fuse (much like Rolo from code geass). But the way he kills people, I wonder if he even breaks into a sweat.

Miharu is still as evil ~ He used his pity face again on bedridden Kumohira causing him to get up in pain and going over to Fuuma. It may just be me, but I am getting annoyed at his manipulative ways. It was fun the first few times, but if he is using that trick to get people to do stuff on a regular basis, than that is just annoying.

I say though, this series need more action and less cooldown periods. This episode wasn't all that exciting. I expect more explosives

Well at least Raimei is already showing her likes towards Kouichi.
