Hmm... The new VA has a rather curious voice. She could be more convincing if she played Shota and Rei Ayanami Clones. Can't wait to see this. |

Hmm the art looks quite old school to me, just has this old feeling to it, or maybe it's just me. Doesn't look bad at all.
And why does it sound like Urabe's voice actor isn't... I don't know, doesn't sound like actual voice acting as much as it does just a person talking. It just sounds weird, especially if you compare it to Miyu's voice. |

The PV looks quite innocent compared to what you expect when reading the synopsis

the voice acting its not bad, its just more "real" voice and way to speak, instead of the anime-ish way, this is more common in dramas or anime movies, i agree its a little inexpressive, but thats pretty much how urabe is.
and the animation, im quite surprised they keep the manga designs in the now moe-filled anime nowadays, and im kinda happy, these design give me a nostalgic feel.

BTW - regarding Urabe's VA ... it does sound kind of stiff and "stilted", I guess, but imo it is certainly a reasonable interpretation of how Urabe's voice could sound in the manga.

And yeah the designs aren't overdetailed, and they give me a oldschool 4:3 fullscreen dvd anime from before the 2004s feel. |

Well Ayanko Yoshitani just sounded like a live action actress to me and indeed she's been in live action for a while

I mean they're pretty much doing the exact opposite of what conventions say you should do if you want your female lead to appeal to otakus.

I see. No wonder she sounds Live Action-ish in the PV. But hey, Live Action and Voice Acting are different somewhat. Probably she needs to literally act the scenes out herself in the studio to "become the character she is playing".
BTW Live Action Gantz covers look awesome. |

from the chara designs you can tell this is not going for the moe approach, and the manga has little modern romance/love comedy gimmicks in it, pretty much theyre not forcing modern conventions wich is something widely done in recent anime, lot of times aiming for a wider audience, but ruining it for the core fans.
