Konatsu has some serious stage fright issues.
Looks like she was lucky enough to recruit the required number of student to get their choir club approved. It's pretty cool how many people actually joined in the end. The song for the recital sounded nice. Her former choir club sensei seems to be making trouble for their new club every step of the way.

Geez, we're only two episode in and you've already determined the anime's eternal ranking??? Who knows, it might just turn into something spectacular.

Also you misread the definition of Hanasaku Iroha butterflies. I meant that as in "what could have been" scenario. Iroha had the potential to be the slice of life/drama of the decade with its pilot episode, but never matched it in its later episodes, though that too was also very good by the end. Tari Tari in ep 2 already is starting to give me that feeling. We will see though! Quote:

Bravo, bravo!
Excellent Season Finale. It truly brought a tear to my eye. Granted, the male characters were a little bit shafted, but at least we had some nice jokes over Wien's name to show how, over time, the guy has been so very accepted and beloved by his new friends. Plus, it's good to see the running bathroom joke about "porn stash" guy come up again in this season finale, tying this finale back into the series opener. Why, it seems like only a week has passed since I started watching Tari Tari, and yet here I am, having watched a truly moving season finale. Like any good season finale, we're treated to the OP or ED being inserted in a epic way that includes special credits rolling. This is to remind the viewer, of course, that this is in fact the season finale, and that we're saying good bye to the show. So this gives Tari Tari touching finality, leaving me feeling melancholic over its end. Having the girls sing to give us the final ED, after struggling for so long to overcome stage fright and a harsh teacher... So poignant. So beautiful. So inspirational. Just as assuredly as Simon pieced through the heavens with his mighty drill, so too has Konatsu pierced through to my heart with her glorious voice, giving us a truly epic season-spanning tale of overcoming so much to realize her ultimate school dream. 9/10 for the season finale of Tari Tari. ... Wait, what's that you say? There's more? A second season has been announced you mean? What, this season isn't over yet? But that was clearly a season finale, wasn't it? What can top this? ... Forever alone guy is going to try to get people to join his badminton team? I see. Well, I guess I'll check it out next week then. In complete seriousness, it was a very good episode. But yeah, I hope that Tari Tari isn't always this rushed. Couple extra notes: 1. Gotta love the Principal looking like somebody out of medieval Europe, lol. 2. Lovely scenery. That, combined with how the three main female characters carry themselves, really give this show a great sense of enhanced realism.

Who knows, few weeks down the road we can come back to this post and laugh, or maybe we'll be all: "So that's what it was!"

Really, when I watch an anime, I judge it on its own merits, instead of, like so many, dissecting it bit-by-bit, making comparisons to this anime or that anime. I might even get more enjoyment out of an anime because I don't try to compare it to things I've watched before. Not to say I can't make comparisons, but I like to watch an anime to the end (or drop it if I can't stand it after a few episodes) before I make any final conclusions as to where I think it stands regarding all the other anime I've already watched. I just finished 2nd episode and the first part took my heart by surprise. My lolicon alarm is ringing not stopped. Konantsu is a complete good walking moe without the stupid moeblob on it that I would probably label the K-ON girls.
This story actually surprised me when I watched the first episode. To be honest. I haven't check the synopsis so I'm not familiar with it but at read that it reminds of the past pa works with girls too that make me watched it only on few couple episode then dropped it because the pacing and the story change drastically for my taste. I wish it won't happen on this one and its still too early to tell but I think I will love this series. Though it has mix of lots of love and fluff but also a bit annoying on it. I feel irritated on that guy that need to buy a new book to learn his Japanese culture. Him continuing to talk while in the middle of conversation feels annoying but like the others ignoring him. I also ignore him but the one he is stalking with I can't ignore I also like the songs that's been played in the recital.

Just finished episode 2 and like the first one, it really continues to show promise and meet my expectations. The principle... the first thing that came to mind when I saw him was "Is that George Washington?".
Konatsu's character continues to surprise me, in terms of her dedication to her love of music and to prove herself to those who doubt her abilities. I'm happy that she was able to overcome her nervousness of singing in front of others, in an unique and interesting fashion (watermelons...). Her personality is just so adorable and a treat to watch, especially when she threatens her brother about his porn stash. Poor kid can't get a break, but still she's awesome so no complaints. Her friend Sawa is such a troll, uploading her epic fail on a YT like site... I seriously laughed when that happened. The songs were a treat to listen too, especially the duet at the end.

officially shipping Sawa and anything.
pacing was obviously fast, but i think its necessary to develop everything they hope to develop. though i have no idea where the series will go from here. like everyone else, i was expecting this ep to be the last one. haha.

Finished watching episode 2. I still love Konatsu, and I'll be damned if I don't love Sawa. These 2 alone are more than enough to put this in my No. 2 spot for the season (unconditional SAO love being No. 1).
But in all honesty, the character interaction/development in this is great. That's in no small part to it feeling so naturally realistic. - Konatsu and Sawa act how I expect two close friends to naturally act. Everything they did, Konatsu blackmailing her bro, reacting to Sawa's teasing (pillow + adorable fetal position), her stage fright, and Sawa had her various moments as well, though one my favourite moments was her "Yes!" during archery. - The cake thing? Simple, but it worked perfectly. - The scene at the pregnancy ward? Hilarious. But again, no crazy reaction or over the top happenings. That teacher is so awesome. - Even the chaos at the beginning. Some people have expressed dislike for it, but I loved every second. Sitting there watching/listening to the various and disjointed conversations was a hoot. "Vienna?" "Wienna?" "Shut up! Both is fine!" Ha ha ha The most unnatural moments for me had been the principal's accident (just the timing of it all), and how skilled Konatsu and Sawa's performance was. That doesn't mean I didn't enjoy it though, cause I loves me some good old music integration wherever I can get it. All in all, I hope it keeps this up since I'll take this in large doses any day. EDIT: After re-watching, I just noticed Konatsu lost her ice cream when Sawa pulled her away in the beginning. D'awww.

This is still a fairly enjoyable show despite its flaws, so let's just wait and see, shall we?
