Can I help you out? I most certainly can! It looks like you have a good eye for romance, and you're not looking for a oppresively deep drama. For that reason, I'm going to suggest Honey and Clover. Personally, I think it was one of the best shows of 2005.

Honey and Clover is a romance/drama/comedy about four art students whose lives are turned upside down when their professor Shuuji introduces them to his neice, Hagu. Little Hagu, who is anything but small, quickly become friends of all the students. And thus progresses the tale of the joys and tribulations of friendship and unrequited love.

The romance in this anime is so incredibly down to earth. It's real and touching. Plus, if you're a fan on comedy, Honey and Clover will NOT disappoint you. This show uses comedy that doesn't depend on the cliche, part of what makes it so brilliant, and if you've been a long time fan of anime I'm sure you'll appreciate that as much as I did.

For real. You MUST see this show. *goes out to convert the world!*

You may enjoy shakugan no shana. Similar to the shows you got there, the highschool romance, but it's got the action. Although the romance does play a role in the show. It also has it's share of comedy, and your usual two girls fighting over the guy.

Midori days- This is a excellent romance/drama/comedy and bits amount of street fight show. The show is only 13 episodes, but 13 episodes of lots of fun. Also the plot to the show is quite innovative.

There's five must see anime. Nothing too emotionally draining there. I could put more but that would get overwhelming.

Oke, I'll start off with Honey and Clover then. Animesuki description says it also has two ova's, are those extra episodes after the main? They dont seem to have the torrent for the ova's here....unless the special is the one.

They are just extra episodes that come on the DVDs and don't continue the story. And yes they are called Special Chapters.

One of the two OVAs or special episodes has been released, and the second episode will most likely be released in the near future.

well I can add Suzuka and Honey to Clover to the list now. Both were great shows..
Ai Yori Aoshi is the next in line. It's a pity though that my harddrive and empty dvd recordables aren't keeping up with me hehehe. I should get to jedinat's must see's as soon as I resupply. (maybe I'm rushing the shows a bit too much?)

or you can try watching maria sama ga miteru. the two seasons are already finished and no one is licensing it yet. it has a good storyline and if you like yuri-like relationship. d.n.angel -> the anime is good but not as good as the manga counterpart. good story, good love relationship thing.

i would also try watching these:
--> maburaho
--> kiddy grade
--> sister princess and sister princess re pure
--> dears
--> steel angel kurumi 1, 2 and encore
--> diamond daydreams
--> shakugan no shana
--> fate/stay night
--> mai hime
--> mai otome

So many to watch, so little harddrive space. Having that many choices sure makes it's a hard one :P
I just finished Ai Yori Aoshi, and Ai Yori Aoshi Enishi.

I guess Midori days, the atmosphere is quite happy, only in the second last episode or so, there is a little amount of drama.

How is it possible Full Moon Wo Sagashite not be in your list!! Its a GREAT show! Do watch it!

Other great titles that are concerned with romance theme are:
Pretear (13 eps - short & sweet. After wathcing this show, I always feel refreshed. Love this series!)
Ashiteruze Baby (touching story)
Da Capo
D.N.Angel (another great series!)
Fruit Basket (Light-hearted)
Love Hina
Mamotte Shugogetten
Marmalade Boy (many eps but one of the greatest romance anime: a roller-coaster ride)
Tsubasa Chronicle (beyond excellent! not complete but season 2 is coming real soon)
Ultra Maniac
Karin
(still watching it.. but promising)

Check AnimeNewsNetwork for its synopsis.

I just finished with DearS and shakugan no shana, again both shows were enjoyable, I'm looking forward to any possible progressions of the series.

The next one on my list and is in progress of watching, Midori days. At first I was sceptical about its story, but the first episode made me like the characters enough to go through the serie.

^Watch them in the order they were released here...Although Ichigo 100% has a very frustrating timeline (each episode is like a different time of the year or season), they do follow a logical order...
