Plot seems to be easy to figure out after Ep 6. Heavy spoiler-ific speculation ahead.

Sugata and Takuto seem to have too many similarities. The painting which Takuto recognized as his own father's, same birthday, both want to free Wako from the island. In ep 1, Sugata implies he wants to destroy Kiraboshi's cybodies so Wako can escape (IIRC Wako stops him due to consequences mentioned in this ep I suppose).

1. Takuto is Sugata's twin brother sent away at early age / has memory loss. Possibly Sugata / his family kept Takuto as insurance in case Sugata apprivoises and falls in a coma. Explains the same birthday and the opposite coloured hair. Doesn't explain why they don't look even like brothers.

2. Takuto is Sugata from alternate reality / future time. Sugata has sent himself into this reality / the past to protect Wako. Takuto either doesn't remember (F/sn style) or the cost of travelling into another reality / past was his memories. Possibly Tauburn is the King's Cybody (we never saw it this episode, Sugata used his first phase before he mounted his cybody). Takuto not remembering has the fortunate side-effect that he has the same first phase, King's Pillar, but can't release it himself, so he's safe from falling into a coma too.

According to my Japanese-Japanese dictionary, although on the surface the words just mean "that person," a woman uses that expression to refer to her husband or lover. The way I heard it was that she just naturally used the expression for Sugata, but her use of it put Takuto off balance. He was trying to find out if she loved Sugata, so he would know if he could make advances on her. She didn't answer the question directly, but using that expression was like a hint that she did. I personally think she may love him more as a brother than a lover, but time will tell. Also, I noted that she called him "ano hito" when talking with Takuto, but naturally called him by his name when she spoke to him.

Excellent episode. I thought Hayami Saori showed that her acting ability, communicating feelings so well by Wako's words. I also thought her singing was richer in this episode. The scenes between Tomatsu Haruka and Ishida Akira continue to be deep and fascinating. The girl "Ondine," with freckles and the yellow mask, was played by Saitou Chiwa.

Yep, it's appeared in the background once or twice and it looked like it was the picture in the watch as well (starting to wonder if it's a painting of Takuto's mother then, no real reason except that it's a rather personal place to keep a picture).

Welcome. The major problem with this is that Takuto knew both his father and grandfather so unless his mother took off with Sugata and a sizable amount of money then it doesn't work. So they could still be twins(non-identical) but it would have been Sugata who was sent off. It would be interesting though that the initially cold brother became more outgoing and the outgoing brother became colder.

Definitely my favorite episode so far. I didn't really like the sheer ridiculousness of episode 5, and I'm hoping the creators can find a stronger balance between humor and drama. Certainly didn't expect Sugata to fall into a coma, though it seems like he would be awakened in the next episode.

I'm not sure if anyone else has made this guessI'm kinda thinking that Sugata might actually end up becoming Takuto's enemy. I'm also starting to think that Sugata may, in fact, be Sam in fish girl' story.(and Takuto might actually be the squid king) Sugata always gave me the "tragic hero" vibe.

I get the feeling that the Kiraboshi members are actually trapped on the island themselves, which is why they want to defeat Takuto.

episode 6 of Star Driver was kind of crazy, and lots of stuff seemed to be happening at the same time.

haha, the date music montage was great. I was laughing so hard at how cheesy it was. We see more of Takuto stealing the blue haired (sonic)'s guy girl.

Not a fan of freckles girl. She looks ugly and very uncute.

The small scene with Suguta sitting @ his dojo in the 'suicide' position caught me by surprise..

also. wow @ King Cybody...damnit, should have saw that coming. That actually makes sense..
We already knew how the pilots gained a Cybody power they can use outside of the mechs, but this episode just confirms it.

what? @ Wako being able to smell Sugata from far away...
Wako is still a bad singer, leave it to the caged girl...

Freckle girls' astralbody energy attack...was sudden. I guess she called it a mermaidbody, but whatever. The miniature cybody fight between her and the Sugata's two maids was cool.

I lost it at the end when it turned out it was Takuto's birthday as well as Sugata. So expected.

well, according to the fish girl's story, Sugata is the king...so that's why he feel asleep. Though I think what happened now is that Sugata is probably 'immortal' in his deep sleep.

I actually expected today to be either the day his mother died or his father left(I would lol if it was both). He seemed to be somewhat depressed when he looked at that watch. Also the picture in the watch makes me wonder if that was his mother and that's his father's pocketwatch(makes the most sense).

I'm still fully expecting Sugata to be the final boss. The maidens don't have to die for the cybodies to leave the island so Sugata could possibly beat Takuto in the 13th episode in an effort to set Wako free. Tauburn seems to be based off a European knight so I guess it could fit into the theme of a revolution. I wonder if the King Cybody is going to having anything to do with Louis XIV and be solar-powered or some other nonsense.

One thing I did notice is that Takuto did wonder what his first phase was so maybe his personality shift could not be related as the shift wasn't such a big deal that he wondered what happened.

That instrumental version is godly.

Hmm I doubt that. Pretty sure they confirmed Sugata's ability to be the King's Pillar. Even if Sugata is special I can't imagine he has two abilities especially one that creates an entire person.

A lot of mysterious around Takuto. That scar especially makes me wonder. It was said that no one had seen a mark that came out on top of a scar before. So it probably isn't related to him for apprivoising off the island. Though it still could be connected. Maybe the personality change idea is right since something had to happen that made him go from being a closed person to who we see now.

Pretty serious episode. Kinda lame how each person with a king cy-body goes into a comma after apprivosing. I mean sugata didnt even physically form his cy-body, it just wiped everything around him out with the exception of protecting his friends.

Anyways like some others have already said i suspect that the 2 main guys are going to have to fight in the near future. Same birthdays, 1 girl in the mix, looks to be a set up of plot.

That ship belonged to a king." (That's what kind of power has King's Cybody. It's not for combat. It's purpose is to TRAVEL-maybe eternal sleeping isn't sleeping at all)

"Whoever defeated the Squid Emperor and brought back his blue blood would have any wish granted."

i always thought Sugata is the final boss for Takuto (red vs blue) but eps 6 seems to lower that possiblity
