You gotta remember that its a 26 episode series now so the pace will likely move a bit slower than the first and second season.
And for the test...remember that Subaru/Teana are both C (now B) Ranked Mages. Even Nanoha back in the first season eclipse them in power.

For their April 1st joke, they said they released Nanoha StrikerS episode 1 and subbed it already before it even aired. Also, speaking of lolis - Nothing really compares to my love of loli Nanoha and the other main characters. |

THATS what the Illusion magic is, to alter her appearance. But in the end it's not a REAL appearance. And now that Reinforce is gone, they can't change anything... Well thats not to say they could to begin with.

WOW.
Wasn't sure what I'd think with Nanoha-tachi all big. But it looks like this is going to be awesome. I don't think this'll be "slow-paced" compared to the other series, just more thorough. For a show like this, 26 eps doesn't mean they have to stretch to make things fit, just that they've got the room to have some real fun, and probably pull a few HiME-ish twists that just wouldn't work on something shorter. As far as fanservice, it seems like they went out of their way to make sure this season has satisfaction of every guilty pleasure. There looks to be two loli characters, one new and one old, along with a depressed goth-loli. We've got a few who're too old to be "loli" but still too young for high school. And of course we've got three beautiful goddesses on THIS side of the legal line, just barely, with all the grace and beauty they didn't quite have in the 3rd grade along with the absolute armageddon-before-breakfast power and friendship-through-beatdown mentality we've come to know and love. Plus, the preview seems to indicate some very interesting situations coming soon... |

The series seems to have a bit of fun for many factions: loli, magical combat, milfs, young women, mecha-action (substitute cute for armor), ....
ah well... I liked the first two seasons sufficiently to use it as my "action series" for the season. "It looks like its kind of like that show... The Unit ... but with high-powered tech-magic females and much less of that 'at home' soap opera stuff" (comment made by wife at dinner, the show she refers to is about a super secret strike force)

Lo, and behold, for there is much Niftyness!!
Now that I've settled down from my Nanoha fix, I have to say that I thoroughly enjoyed it. Some complain that there wasn't enough "action" in the first episode- I figure that watching Subaru and Teana go through their paces was plenty of action. It may not have been as dramatic as when Nanoha tachi were nearly taken down by the Wolkenritter, and Nanoha had her Linker Core tapped (that scene gave me some chills, when I saw it the first time), and Subaru seemed quite the Drama Queen, but many good series don't start with a bang in the first ep. Interesting tech the firefighters have- looks like high-pressure water mist guns. This is actual technology for firefighting that's being developed- IIRC, the french developed a mist cannon for helicopters to fight skyscraper blazes. (the Mist works much better to cool the heated gases, and to smother the fire, than a stream of high pressure water. Nanoha makes a big boom! This is the first time I can remember Nanoha causing physical damage to a structure- Of course, she hasn't been trying to blast buildings before... But that is one big hole she made. (The firing lock- this could be atributed to her having actually joined the TSAB officially- she likely didn't have any restrictions before, because she was a "non-affilliated civilian" from a world not administered by the Bureau, regardless of being a AAA mage or not. I have to say, the op music doesn't quite have the punch of Eternal Blaze, but the opening animation is plenty nifty. It looks like we'll be seeing mecha playing a more visible supporting role in this series, besides just the Arthra, if the transport that was glimpsed in the op is any indication. Which makes sense, since Hayate's group is supposed to be a mobile unit, and the junior members cant't fly (yet). I have to say, that Subaru's roller blades actually make some sense for a ground combat mage- even if physical abilities can be boosted with magic, running would cost quite a bit of energy, not to mention the strain on magical reserves. So, Subaru has the equipment for covering quite a bit of ground quickly, as she so _clearly_ demonstrated. (Braking? What is this "braking" you speak of?) ^_^ Subaru and Teana have some cool moves, anyway. Well, next episode looks to be more exposition on what the terrible trio are up to, and why (the manga has more backround, but the Airport incident seems to get the ball rolling), so those who want to see some magical mayhem may (may, I say) disappointed. I'll be looking forward to it, anyway. I do feel a bit sad that Yuuno appears to have little to no part to play, especially the way the teaser at the end of A's had him show up, but I'll wait and see. On the whole, it does appear that we'll be treated to quite a bit of action in the course of the series. |

Had only he not pegged Yuuno to "you should be able to do a good job" with the librarian stint... (( Then again, maybe Yuuno is now a ROD's Master Librarian...)) Had he not get married (( you would've loved that )) and gotten kids...making Arf shafted two times over in the combat department... He's not in the OP too (( so is Acous/Karim, but they aren't high-in-demand yet so that's no one's fault )), but he's almost guareented to show a certain degree of action, even if it's ship commanding. Life's not fair. He screws 2 even if unintentionally, but gets the benefits. and better clothes. (( Unless there's a formal Head Librarian uniform we're not aware of... ))

edit(2): The exact words were - Fate: Nanoha loves her work very much, but I think Yuuno-kun still worries about her right? Yuuno: Yeah, I do get worried sometimes, but... Ever since I first saw her in the sky, somehow I felt that... More so than anywhere else, she belongs in the sky.
