The Genderbending of Haruhi Suzumiya [Spoilers Aplenty]

I think I'm starting to understand why I've been playing the doujin game "Suzumiya Haruhi no Gekitou" a lot more recently. I'm doing so in order to fix the memory of the original SOS-dan in my mind, as a safeguard against getting too broken by this thread.

I started re-reading all the original novels for the same reason, but I can't resist reading through this thread at least once a day for the fear of missing some epic kyon-ko pic.

Its not that easy to forget Haruhi! She way too memorable. Same goes with Yuki and Mikuru. Not so sure about Kyon or Koizumi tho...

Who said anything about forgetting Haruhi? I'm just making sure that I still have a fresh perception of her by the time Haruhi Season 2 rolls around, so as to minimize the shock when I realize everyone is their right genders.

Ahhhhh, now that i think about it... that might actually happen to me, especially if season 2 is not coming anytime soon... Note to self: start rewatching the anime and rereading the novels.

Yay, it's not just me! Though I don't know whether I can take rewatching the anime again, even if it is Haruhi. I must have watched each episode about five times already (and read the novels twice)...

For other main characters, i would say:

Haruki - All hot blooded youths use "ore".

Yuuki/Asakura/Kimidori - "watashi", aliens should be polite and formal.

Mitsuuru - "watashi" seems appropriate, but he also seems like he would use "boku". Though i could imagine Haruki forcing him to use "ore" to up his manliness

Itsuko - "watashi" fits the formal and subservient image she shows to the sos-dan

Tsuruya - polite rich kids would use "watashi".

Kyonko otouto - shota characters all use "boku".

Sasaki - hmm, as kyon mentioned, she purposely uses the more masculine "boku" with guys and the more feminine "watashi" with girls. A girl might do it to make herself less attractive to guys, but what would motivate a male Sasaki to do something like this?

I agree with most, but I think the aliens should use boku. Mostly because they use that in the character songs.

I admit I drooled a lot on the first one and nosebleeded a massive pool of blood, then saw the second one and drooled more, but then returned to the first one and passed out to the sheer moeness of Kyonko.


Man I have problems.

and I don't think it's a good thing.

I'm sure many artists can nosebleed at their own work. You're not that broken yet.

Kyon IS me on the internet. By the second episode I declared him my anime counterpart.

As for the inner fangirl thing, that's me, the Danchou. This thread has clearly broken me quite a bit.

Hey guys, I'm back. Was on "vacation" for a few days. Got a new baseball cap.

I got some ideas from looking at the fanart... Maybe every time Tsuruya shows up he can grip Kyon-chan in a tight one-armed hug?

And we need to write one story where the "normal" Haruhiverse and this one meet... if only for the interactions between Kyon and Kyon-chan and the utter horror of double Asakura.

I need to start writing again...
