Voted for Lelouch/Zero because he is one of the most interesting characters in the history of anime. Tragic anti-hero.

and like it or not
he really IS one of the most interesting characters in resent years
evident by the fact that im still not sure how to describe him
most of season 1 he was half hero half villain (becouse he was contrasted with suzaku, who was much more heroic back then)
in season 2 he was mostly a hero up until the last arc (in which he is clearly the villain, even if he gets the POV spotlight)
and then the final ep comes along and he's undefineble
one on hand he's heroic for his sacrifice (making the world a better place)
and on the other hand he has achived this by first becoming worse then hitler and stalin put together (to say something unkind about him, is to risk having your entire family killed)

love him or hate him
he is still one of the best characters in a long time

I'll likely get mobbed for this, but my favorite character was Suzaku. He showed very strong resolve after messing up so many times. His fighting skills, the way he is able to counter some of Lelouch's sentiments, and the sheer tenacity of his actions make him my favorite for this season. I liked the way Suzaku handled Lelouch when Lelouch was doubting himself. It was basically a "suck it up and continue on" notion from him in the last episodes.

Suzaku kept me watching this season.

from that point on he starts viewing his role as more then simply a mask to wear and actually tries fighting for other people''s dreams
before that he was all about nunnaly
then you have the china arc
even his worse crime (the cult thing) was motivated not by greed or desire for more power (he was throwing away potential power) but by griff and a wish to avenge sheirly
and the whole building the UFN and trying to reclaim japan
the the betrayal arc (in which he basiclly sacrifices himself to save kallen)
and going after the emperor as a final act and to atone (he was planning to lock both of them in the world of C

I like ALL characters. There are a few exceptions though. Wait...I don't like Nina but she did help Lelouch and stopped her "EUPHEMIA-SAMA NO KATAKI!?!?!" modes and grew up.FLEIJA must've bombed her head as well. Charles is for comedy so I don't really hate him. Marianne...eh...So-so. She just appeared in one episode.
What I hate is Athur!? He lived and yet LELOUCH DIED! OMFG!

Anyone else sad that there's not a take 2 of the favourite characters poll now the shows over? I'm kind annoyed with myself that i voted so early what with all the changes personality wise for some characters.

I originally voted for Lelouch, Kallen and Cornelia, but if there was another poll after all thats happened i guess Jerimiah(Why in gods name did i not put him down in the first place) and Nunally would be the first ones on the list.

I know this is a joke but really what happened in the Romance thread and what is currently happening in this thread arent funny at all. And it's not just this thread, a number of threads in this sub-forum suffer from the same people making off-topic posts derailing the discussion. I suggest that the above applies to the other threads as well, please start deleting or editing your posts and make sure they are entirely on-topic otherwise more Infractions (which will lead to bans) will be awarded.
