Nothing could be further from the truth. It is one of the most complete games out there. Full of content, detail and depth. Everything else, including the last world of Warcraft expansions seem lazy work when compared to it.

Don't feed the trolls, folks.
After playing a bit more I revise my earlier statement that the game is starting to get boring. I can only say: it deserves all the hype that has surrounded it for the past few years. Now if only they could fix dungeons and parties so that we can actually play AC with five people... |

Well, it seems they are doing some heavy patching right now. They know the storm is coming tomorrow... Hopefully they'll have the group thing resolved before then.
By the way, look me up in game, same nick name. Lets group up and do some fun stuff.

The only resemblance is that the game has with WOW is that it is also an MMO with dungeons, zones, items, pvp and what not. The game is completely different from any other MMO that came before it. There is plenty of info on the net about the game so no point in linking anything.

Been having a blast in the game with my engineer. I'm Faulkener on Stormbluff Isle if anyone is there. My guild is recruiting as well so look for me if you need a guild there or you can visit our guild page at www.pieguild.com
You can also guest at any server at anytime but you are limited to the PvE elements only. So there's no need to transfer to play with friends on other servers if you don't want to. In terms of gameplay, PvE is very exploration based compare to WoW. At the core, there's really not much difference as all MMORPGs which is based around the kill, escort, collect and deliver quest but what GW2 did different is avoid the shopping list syndrome that WoW had. You can wander all over the place and run into regular quest and events instead of being pulled along a specific route of quest. The heart events are basically your standard quest except you don't need to pick up or hand it in to NPCs and it's usually a few objective all rolled into one quest. Example, a lumbermill needs your help and you can do so by either killing the mobs attacking it, collect materials for the mill or motivate the workers around the mill. Any of these activities will go toward completing the quest. The events are similar in execution with the exception that it's a chain of events with failed state that leads to different events. These are repeatable and you can join in anytime during the event and still get rewarded by your contribution to the event. For PvP, GW2's arena battle system are completely separate from PvE. Skills are tuned differently and racial skills are not allowed in it to remove the difference between races. There's public 8 v 8 and tournament 5 v 5 currently. They ll be adding GvG down the line. Most maps are currently domination mode with a twist to it. World versus World though is linked to your PvE character but you can scaled up to level 80 when you go in. It's based around siege mode where you have 4 different zone with keeps, supply camp, relics and NPC camp to capture/defend. It pits 3 servers against each other and at the end of a 2 week campaign the score is tallied according to the numbers of objective you hold and the winners/losers are rematched against other servers of similar capability/population.

Lovin it, but there's one major downer on my end. Did my first "dungeon", Ascalon Catacombs - Story Mode and let's just say, I was completely disappointed with it. I hear AC - Explorable Mode is much more harder than AC. I just hope the higher level dungeons don't disappoint more...
Oh yeah, freaking sucks that the auction house has been down for about 3 days now. Can't make any money, bank is overloaded, and I'm still stuck at nub crafting levels because I can't buy mats to level it faster. Anyhow, gonna try the level 40 (or w/e level it is) dungeon when I get home from work tomorrow. GL and HF for those that just opened their package like now.

So to be honest the core mechanics are pretty much the same as WoW, it's just that GW2 is currently very polished and with enough fresh ideas to be the next logical step in MMORPGs. I'm not sure you can recommend GW2 to someone that didn't like the WoW concept at all. |

Anaxev on Isle of Janith, or something... if I'm not being overflowed to Queensflood or Queensgate. Was kinda going for an Alice from Alice: Madness Returns look. Although I picked the wrong eye colour, QQ. The human city is pretty damn awesome to look at as well if I do say myself. I love the Engineer class, so much fun shooting, grenading, burning and turreting stuff to death. Only started playing today though, so you'll have to forgive the crappy looking armor. Is there a way to get the game to take better quality SS's?

Nice, looks like there's a lot of people in the same world. Adjective on Isle of Janthir (shut up, all the good nouns were taken ) and i've added you both.
Playing a Thief, and i haven't found a good play style yet as i seem to be tanking half of all the hits when the skill i'm using doesn't happen to have a dodge function. |
