I'm surprised Y never even thought to try hentai. That would've shot them up to first place and kept them there. Ms Sweets would've no doubt rejected the idea but it was worth a shot.

Actually, no. Explicit porn almost always has a smaller audience. That's why most serialized manga stick to just teasing with ecchi.

Categorically one of the smartest anime I've ever seen. Stunning and brilliant.

Another excellent episode, but this time without any noticeable content/translation errors Talking about references and social commentary... the episode was the logical continuation for such a successful doujin artist getting trapped into becoming a professional mangaka forgoing the acquisition of any other useful skill (to become a public servant), and after 200 weeks (about 4 years) of publishing a crappy story in JUMP, when sales drop his future is tossed in the abyss... thankfully for the characters in their world mankind has declined and they were sparred from this fate

By far the best show of the season, maybe better than Penguin Drum... depends on how it will handle the even more depressing arcs.

This arc was simply hilarious to watch from beginning to start. Mai Nakahara and Miyuki Sawashiro made everything 10x funnier.

Among the many things I adored was that they managed to get "A Midsummer Night's Dream" worked in. Most logical crossover ever.

Also - Joshu-kun is practically moe.

Well, that was a somewhat depressing glimpse into the manga industry.

All in all, it was a fun episode, but nothing as outwardly hilarious as the previous one. And looking at the entire arc as a whole, it wasn't as powerful as the previous arc. It's still the cleverest show in the season regardless.

I must say that I adored our narrator's facial expressions all throughout.

Well that was painfully dull. Just a whole lot of nothing. Where's the pizzazz?

I carry a Victorinox Cybertool at all times too.

This ep show that while All Blue Entries are fun to look at they quickly get tiring.

If there will be any flag between MC and someone, he'll be the most likely candidate really.

To me, self-depreciation is whole point of the satire in this episode, because if you think about it, Jinrui is quite “guilty” of overstimulating audience in the first two episodes (bleeding bread & processed chickens)… If not handled properly, audience would start to demand ever increasing level of "powerful", "hilarious" plot twists, and the show would run the risk of Y's manga in terms of ratings...

So to use a couple episodes to scale back the “WTF” level and reflect may not be such a bad idea. We can call it the "sustainable entertainment"

Huh. That could be one way of looking at it. I wouldn't put it past this show to do something so meta.

But now that you brought it up, let me highlight the best part of the episode.

Not nearly as weird or eccentric as the previous arc, but man, did they really smash your typical manga publication.

Overall, didn't enjoy this arc as much, but it sure has a lot more message that I could understand (Bakuman thank you lol).

Ep 4
better than thee last one
mocking the cliche of manga industry and really presented in a fun way
the seiyuu really did a great job!

next 2 ep is "The fairies' returning home" which is the most action-packed among all stories
I am interested how they present it in this kind of art style

There was a small extra scene after the credits that got cut out of every english sub release.

Looks like the manzines are still going strong.
