Waiting on subs here.. but I've noticed that Horizon is charting nicely on Amazon jp atm.

Vol #1 = #31
Vol #2 = #65
Vol #3 = #78
Vol #4 = #89

No guarantee it will sell well but I'll rather see the preorders chart in this range early on them never show up anywhere near this like with Blood-C, Sacred Seven & Nichijou.....

Well, blame the original artist. In spite of not participating on any mature media, he still portrays the characters in this manner.

Besides, we don't want those fans to go crazy when Sunrise decides to go for their own renditions of the characters. We already know what happens when character designs become too unpredictable (see Mayoi Neko Overrun!).

Pre-orders so far have been stellar for vol1, very stellar.

Non-English forums/msg boards have been positive about episode 1, despite a lot of concern regarding where the story is going, though I must say they could've called this Episode 0 and that would've prevented a lot of concerns.

After lurking on rizon for a day and half, I'm pretty sure not a single group will pick this up before Sentai's. Better start getting used to the wait (it's not that bad, just 4 days

...).

The good news is that at least you still have Sentai, Chihayafuru on the other hand

...

I missed the days where I can get Chinese subs... Though given the 'complexity' of this story I'm not sure how much good it would do

The complexity is there, but to say that for THIS episode is completely false and bullshit. Don't listen to anyone who says that.

As a character intro episode, I honestly don't know how anyone would get lost. The history lesson at the end is sooooooooo complex that someone else explained it in 3 lines.

If you can get c-subs you should, they came out within 5 hours for episode 1
