Thanks for the semi spoilers though... I can't imagine how I would have coped with the emotional stress that the following episodes will develop in me.

The end of this episode coincides with the end of chapter 260 which was published in the February 13, 2006 issue. Manga readers then had to wait until the October 6, 2007 issue to see chapter 261. That's more than one and a half years later. Can you imagine?

This just shows that they can make the calm before the storm way more tense than the storm itself could ever be. There is literally no telling how much of the mission will go according to plan, and most importantly, what are the things that won't?
I must add that I liked the analysis and how they used logic to come to the very accurate conclusion that "The King injured himself, something really unexpected must be happening in there". |

Lots of preparations...
And lots of possible strategies. Things are getting pretty intense. The selection part should be very interesting. Seems this was just an intro episode for the main event. Can't wait to see next episode!

I remember there being quite a long wait during the fight Killua had against the brother and sister dart board/Ikalgo chimera ants. We got a short return for the "needle in the forehead" revelation and then if memory serves me correctly we had another super long wait after that.
Nothing worse than a Togashi break in the middle of an arc.

Well, I take encouragement from the fact that SJ hasn't ever come out and changed "hiatus" to "retired".
I'm going to the H x H panel at Jump Festa this Sunday and I suppose there could be some kind of announcement there but I'm really not expecting anything.

There are 3 manga writers that I deeply admire: Hayao Miyazaki for well, all of his works, Kentaro Miura for Berserk and Togashi Yoshihiro for Yuyu and H x H.
Both Kentaro and Togashi seem to take their sweet time writing, but when they do it they come up with pure brilliance. I don't really care if it takes them both another 10 years to finish, all good things in life are never rushed.

I don't know why people are so dismissive of this. For all we know he has some long-term terminal illness, or is crippled. Maybe he had a stroke or something and it's physically painful for him to draw. Or maybe not. We have no idea, because he chooses not to tell us. But to go from "he's been using the same excuse for a long time" to "he must be lying because he's lazy" seems like an absurd jump in logic to me. I suppose I should interpret it as a compliment since it means you like his work so much that you don't want to believe that there's any real obstacle to getting it, but it just feels disrespectful to me.
