Not sure why there bothering making a movie now with the series not being popular as it once was, I mean is the series even airing on TV anymore? This is a movie that should have been done 3-5 years ago when the series was at it's height of popularity.

Anyways this movie will good to watch... for a laugh.

And I'm sure that's exactly what they're aiming at. They know people expect it to be a piece of shit, but they also know there's going to be a lot of people who're going to watch the movie at cinemas or purchase the DVDs precisely because it'll be a piece of shit. Of course, it's a niche market at best, but there's nothing wrong with attempting to capture it.

They could've saved themselves the heartache and made a live action of the 20th anniversay DB movie. Its the only thing which would work. Anything else is the equivilent of cutting your own wrist and watching your career go to crap.

I can't believe they are going a head with this...wonder how they will do Goku's hair...

Hope it's nothing like that earlier film that was released, that was terrible. Even with a decent budget and actors it's going to be so weird to see it, can just imagine what the power up sequences will be like

I'm going to lawl so hard at this. I can only think of the bleach-haired spike being bald.

No doubt this finally came into being because of Transformers. I get that vibe for some reason.

But I'll watch this, if only for the lawls.

We already saw this movie. It's called Neo vs Smith in The Matrix Revolution.

Agreed bloodrayne was bad..coulda been great though. Only game i think would be any good as a live action move+CG would be the Legacy of Kain series ( soul reaver and Blood omen ) but that aint gunna happen

Im not keeping any hopes for this DB movie... they will really have to pull somthing outta there a** for this to be any good lol.

Failure or not, I'm checking this out just for the sakes of watching it. I did used to be a major fan of Dragonball Z several years ago - and it might be a laugh to see what they come up with. Though I'm not desperate either, not too bothered about it I just hope Hollywood don't pick up some decent anime series and ruin them.

Well DB in all it's series has a good bit of comedic elements, so that shouldn't be your biggest worry...

Man I was hoping Tom Welling (Smallville) was gonna get the role...I really saw him as fitting Goku in looks and in stature (Doesn't hurt he plays Superman on TV)...So the gay son of Kevin Nealon in "WEEDS" is gonna be Goku? He doesn't seem buff enuff at all..Kind of a dainty guy to be honest...I guess they are going the Topher Grace as Venom route like Spiderman in casting a skinny guy for a buff guy's role...Kinda sucks when they pick a lead you don't like, but he can grow on me I suppose (Hell I hated when they casted Toby Mcguire as spidey at first)...

Anyways it seems the low expectations is gonna help this movie, but however flawed it will be it won't be worse than the Street Fighter Movie that's for sure...With a big studio like Fox, perhaps some story elements may be screwed, but I expect really great visual fight scenes unlike some of you who have forgotten how advanced FX have become...

One thing that is encouraging is that they went out and got some Asian influences to write, direct, and appear in the film...So that's better than say, hiring a hack like Micheal Bay to do it or some other Hollywood generic specialist...I can't wait til this thing comes out so we can bash and//or like and/or love and//or love to hate the hell outta it^^...

Edit: Uhoh, went back and read the writer of "The Big Hit" wrote the first draft of this movie ...Jesus that is one of the worst movies ever made period in the history of films...I hope Wong re-wrote the $hit outta Ramsey's version...

BTW, shouldn't this be in the general anime forum where the first DBZ movie thread was?

Are you kidding? I loved The Big Hit! I've seen it three times and it got better every time I saw it.

This can only end of tears, and lots of lead-filled toys. Oh wait, DBZ's already got that.
Hollywood should just play it safe and continue making adaptations of the horror movies where nothing is really explained at the end.

The Big Hit with Mark Walberg and the guy who did workouts so he could be fit enuff to play with his boner all day, that "Big Hit"?? With the retarded video-store explosion scenes? With Lou Diamond Phillips last real acting job? Wow NSW, that's hard to believe you like that crap let alone think that that's a good thing for a DBZ movie...But maybe after 10 years Ramsey changed his style a bit....
