Gurren-Lagann Movie (Same themes and characters - all else different)

Some people from the Gurren Lagann team were guests at the convention Connichi in Germany and showed the movie there in the evening on September the 12th for free. Unfortunately, there were no subtitles, but most parts of the movie are straight from the TV series, so it was understandable even with only minor Japanese skills, if you watched the TV series so far. However I also think that the end is new and great, but the new beginning is also shown in the last Parallel Works video (if I remember correctly). When the character designer was asked one day later, where he sees the differences, he told the audience that the breasts of Yoko are bigger in the movie....

But I must say that the movie is probably a little bit rushed for people who haven't watched the TV series.

Is this movie anywhere online? I looked around for it and couldn't find it.

Simon is young in the clip posted above. When does this movie take place, and is a stand alone film or in continuity with the series?

It is a summary/somewhat re-telling of the TV series (Pre-timeskip). There are a few new scenes and battles in order to help sum up the original story, but most of it is stuff we already know. The second movie will be the same way, but will feature the events of the Timeskip arcs.

It was a Gurren Lagann event called Gurren Lagann Festival. Where the voice actors performs some voice clips live, they also exchange roles among other things to produce some funny and entertaining results. The DVD has the entire voice actor section.

Oh yeah I remember this event. The few videos I've seen were fun. Thanks for your answer
