"So..." Fate started as she, Erio, Caro and Nanoha sat in the living room. "When did you two start?" The only reason Yuuno and Miyuki weren't there was because they went to check on Arashi and Vivio. That and no one wanted to deal with Thoth's comments at that moment.
"Two months..." Caro said as she blushed and looked away.
"No, Caro, do not look away from me." Fate's tone of voice left no room for argument. "Two months... Have you two even thought..." She trailed off as Nanoha squeezed her shoulder.
"Fate, calm down." Nanoha squeezed tightly as Fate took a deep breath. "Erio, Caro... Since Fate's too upset to talk normally, I'll ask, how did it start?" She held up a hand to stop their immediate questions. "I know that I'm not upset, but I'm still curious as to the hows and whys."
"Um, well, it started a couple of months ago..." Erio gulped when Fate narrowed her eyes. "Bu, but we were doing other things before that!" He missed Nanoha slapping her forehead when he said that. "I mean, we, uh, we were..."
"We've gone on dates and kissed and other stuff!" Caro cried out before Erio could make it worse. "We only took that last step a couple of months ago and..."
Seeing Fate twitch, Nanoha sighed heavily. "Go, you two, go outside for right now. Let me talk to Fate." The two nodded and quickly left the room. "Fate..."
"It's too soon!" Fate growled out, her hands twitching. "None of us..."
"Fate." Nanoha grabbed her arms and held them. "Calm down." She put a finger on Fate's lips to get her to remain quiet and got an angry look in response. "One, none of us did that as fast as they did because we were really busy in our lives," she sighed as her mind went over that time in her life, "not to mention, Fate..." She pulled her finger away from the blonde's lips, "Erio and Caro are more mentally balanced than we were."
"Nanoha?" Fate blinked at her. "What are you?"
"Fate, think about what we went through when we were nine... We still had troubles when we were their age." Nanoha moved closer to Fate and wrapped an arm around her shoulder. "They've had it better than we did. They're more adjusted than we were." Nanoha smiled at Fate as she started to calm down. "And, besides, if you try to stop them, you'll only get them to resent you."
Fate sighed and looked down. "But..." Her eyes widened as Nanoha kissed her on the cheek. "Nanoha?"
She winked at Fate. "If you can't stop it, you can at least make sure that they take all the precautions..." A rather mean grin came to her face. "Plus, we don't have to make it easy on them, do we?"
"What do you have in mind?" Fate knew Nanoha could be mean, but she didn't always know what was going through the redhead's mind.
"Well..." Nanoha giggled softly. "I think it's time that Caro gets an exam..." She winked at Fate, who's eyes widened as she caught on. "And maybe make them watch all the videos that we had to for health class back in school."
Fate shivered, that wasn't going to be fun. "Do it." A thought came to her. "We won't be able to embarrass them like we were."
Nanoha smirked at her. "Who says we have to do that? We can give them a few scares at least." After all, if they were going to go through with this, they had to accept all of the consequences of their actions. "Actually, other than the exam for Caro..." She trailed off. "I'm going to ask Vita-chan for a little favor."
Suddenly, Fate thought that having to watch the videos that she did when she was younger would have been kinder.

"Do you think we'll be okay?" Caro asked as she and Erio walked down the street. "Do you think they'll tell us to stop?"
"I hope not." Erio said as he gave her hand a squeeze. "Wanna go see a movie?"
"Sure." Caro smiled as they continued their walk. Maybe if they took some time away from the house, everyone would calm down.

"So, Caro and Erio are in trouble?" Vivio asked Yuuno, who sighed heavily. "Something wrong, papa?"
Yuuno nodded and knelt down. "Let's just say that I caught them doing something that I didn't think they'd be doing and it made Fate upset."
Vivio nodded, though she wasn't sure what he meant. "Um, okay..."
Arashi looked at Miyuki. "Is big sis Fate gunna freak out again?" When Miyuki shrugged he sighed. "I'm hungry too."
"Come on then," Miyuki rolled her eyes as she grabbed Arashi's shirt and lifted him off the ground before spinning and putting him down. "Let's go eat, before Fate and Nanoha realize they haven't eaten either." When Arashi and Vivio suddenly rushed towards the front door, Miyuki laughed softly. "They're too excitable."
"Like we were any better." Yuuno chuckled as he and Miyuki walked into the house after the two younger kids. Still, he couldn't get the thought of Caro and Erio doing that out of his head. And he just wasn't sure why it bothered him so much.

"So," Nove looked at Einhart, "are you ready?" She took a stance as she activated her barrier jacket. "Let's see the changes."
"Tio, set up." She held her plush snow leopard in front of her.
Tio's eyes lit up and raised his head into the air. "Mraaw!" A flash of light engulfed Einhart for a moment, and when it was done, she was standing in front of Nove, in her female adult mode.
Nove raised an eyebrow as she looked at Einhart's outfit and hair style. "Neat." It had changed slightly, though, Nove wondered if Einhart planned on flashing everyone with her underwear when she fought, since her skirt didn't look that tight around her body. "Ready?"
Einhart nodded as Nove charged her with a knee raised. Leaning back, Einhart caught the knee and was about to redirect Nove when the redhead grabbed her shoulders, pushed up so that Einhart was supporting Nove completely. Smirking, Nove pushed up, spun in midair before flipping and driving her feet into Einhart's back and sending her flying forward.
Grimacing at the hit, Einhart flipped over, planted her hands on the ground to stop her forward momentum and pushed back, flying back at Nove in a high speed drop kick.
Nove's eyes widened as she felt Einhart's feet drive into her stomach, as she was sent backwards, she saw Einhart twist in mid-air, move so that she was able to drive her feet into the ground and dive forward, her arms crossed in front of her, driving into Nove's ribs, just under her breasts and sending the short redhead flying backwards even harder. However, Einhart wasn't done as she tumbled into a roll forward, planting her hands on the ground and pushing upwards, driving her feet into Nove's chin and Einhart's skirt to flip up.
Tumbling through the air a few feet, Nove called up her Airliner so she could stop in mid air and look down at Einhart as the younger girl looked up at her cautiously. "Not bad." She had to admit, Einhart's device did help increase her strength slightly. Of course, for her, slightly went from petite powerhouse to someone who could probably break a car with ease. "My turn."
Einhart took a defensive stance as Nove suddenly rocketed forward. She brought her hands up to guard her face as Nove lashed out with several fast, strong kicks towards her arms, causing her to grit her teeth as she was forced back. "Nnngh..." The next thing that she knew there were several strikes coming from her side aimed at her head.
The first hit made her stagger, the second hit managed to break her guard and Nove's third round house kick sent her tumbling end over end before she landed on her head, slid to the side and spun around before ending up falling onto her back. "...Ow." She muttered as she stood up and looked at Nove.
"Well?" Nove tilted her head as Einhart threw a few punches forward followed by a high kick.
"It seems that this will do. Sufficient body reinforcement for both offense and defense." Einhart made a fist as she walked up to Nove. "Tell me," she relaxed, letting her hand unclench, "why have you been helping me with my training?"
Nove stretched her arms above her head. "Mostly because I can use your help in my own training. But also because I like a good scrap. Vivio's not like you." Einhart blinked, "she's more of a normal girl than you or I are."
"I don't have all of Claus's memories, I admit, but," Einhart gave a soft smile as she looked up in the air at something that Nove couldn't see, "Olivie, despite being a king like Claus or Ixpellia, was a kind ruler who, despite being the best in combat in all of Ancient Belka, she disliked fighting and preferred to read books and play with animals."
"Sounds like Vivio, though she enjoys fighting, she just enjoys fighting because she can. You, on the other hand," Nove chuckled softly, "you dedicate yourself to this. And me? I train a lot as well."
Einhart nodded as she canceled her transformation. "Yes, I noticed that. Still, I think that I am ready for a rematch against Vivio now."
Nove nodded at her. "Good. I'll get the rematch set up." She turned to walk away as she canceled her outfit. "Oh, and Einhart?" She turned to look back at the confused girl, "black lace panties aren't good for combat."
Einhart's eyes widened and a blush adorned her cheeks while Tio floated upwards and landed on her shoulder. "It... It's not my fault! I would never wear something so... Mooouuuu!" Nove actually laughed as Einhart's face turned so red that it looked like her blush would become permanently attached to her face.

The three stranded people gathered in their room. Initially, three rooms were prepared, but both Alph and Zafira absolutely refuse special treatment. Then again, with them in their animal form the accommodation needed is not much. As the result, one room is used, with one king-sized bed and two luxurious sofas.
(Of course, both Tiara and Antoinette is freaked out by the transformation at first. Apparently body manipulation spell exist in Flognarde, but not to that extent. Alph also having a field day prodding Yuuno to show his transformation, much to his ire)

Project R2, abbreviation of Second Rewrite, is a collective attempt by the original survivors of Book of Darkness Incident to fulfill the wish of the original Book of Night Sky, renamed Reinforce, who wish to protect her Mistress, Yagami Hayate.
Using data gained from Wolkenritters and remains of the original Reinforce hidden within Hayate’s own Linker Core, a new living device was born, named Reinforce Zwei.
Indeed, Yuuno play a big part in it, and thus he knew a lot of things about the Wolkenritters, probably a little too much for their comfort, so he never talked about it.
“You guys keep everything to me, I feel sidelined you know” Alph sighed “Zafira, are you sure you feel fine?”
“Yes, I can’t feel anything strange”
“Even the slightest bit of problem, you WILL tell me okay? I don’t want Vita to maul me even more than she wanted to. I already have several tricks in my sleeve, but you might not want to know the details” Yuuno finalized, finally losing the tone of great concern in his voice.
“You can keep my words; I will” Zafira nodded firmly, changing his direction to the red-furred puppy “… are you sure you can manage?”
“Nah, remember I do not have linker core to begin with. Besides our combat style is almost exactly same, so muscle memory is not a problem” Alph grinned “How about we train some combination moves?”
“Anyway, you might want to ask someone about Emblem Arts, it’ll be useful” Yuuno noted as he dropped his head on the pillow “wake me up if my presence is needed”
It’s not ten second and yet a soft murmur can be heard, the bookworm finally fell into slumber a top of a bed covered with books as his fatigue reached critical mass.
Carim Gracia stared at the bar in front of her. It was a small, out of the way establishment, rarely frequented by Bureau’s staffs. Yuuno was the one who introduced Chrono to this place, something that surprised the Admiral to no end. Apparently, the Librarian had knew of this place from a friend, but would refuse to tell his friend who.
It had all started here. Their little secret, their little corner. How fitting, for this place to be where it all ends.
Sighing, the blond pushed the door open. The bar was more crowded than usual, but there were still enough spaces to move around. As she head for the counter, the barman noticed her approach.
“The usual, Ms Gracia?” He asked her the moment the woman sat down.
“Yes please” Carim nodded at the man.
“Very well.” A while later, the man returned, carrying her drinks. “Here you go Ms Gracia.”
“Thank you.” She took a small sip, but she can’t bring herself to enjoy the taste.
After a while, the barman spoke up “Are you alright Ms?”
“I’m … fine. Thank you for your concern.” She tried to smile, but even she could tell that it was a sad one.
“Flirting with your customers Bruce?” A cool voice spoke up from behind, and Carim felt an emotional war coming up from within. “What happened to that policy of yours?”
“Asking doesn’t count as flirting.” Bruce retorted, a smirk adorning his face. “What can I get for you, Admiral?”
“I’ll have what she’s having” The man pointed a finger toward Carim.
“Coming right up.”
Taking a deep breath, Carim turned toward the newcomer. “Arriving later than usual, then not ordering any alcohol? That makes 2 surprises in one night. My my, are you really Chrono?”
The blunette merely rolled his eyes. “My mother and Amy were fussing over the wedding plans. If it wasn’t for the ferret, I doubt I could have got out of there.”
At the mention of Amy and wedding, Carim bit her lips. It was wrong, it was detestable to even think of it, yet Carim can’t help but hates that woman. She knew she was in the wrong, she knew that Amy had eyes on Chrono first. Still…
“As for not ordering alcohol…” His voice snaps Carim’s out of her dark thoughts. A hand gently cupped her cheek. ”I want to remember this night, for the rest of my life.”
He smiled at her. Oh how she loved those smiles. It was rare, and far gentler than one would expect from Chrono Harlaown. Shaking her head, she refocuses her attention on their surroundings.
“How’s your works coming along?” Carim asked, trying to start some small talks.
“Barely.” Chrono sighed. “A lot of dead ends, and it’s as if the people there went out of their way to piss us off. How about you?”
“Better at least.” Carim smiled. “This batch of recruits is more disciplined than the last one. There’s also the fact a few of the newly retired Knights agreed to act as supervisor for the training. So right now, I can take it easy for a while.”
“Lucky you.” Chrono commented.
“Not really.” Carim muttered. How can she be lucky, when she was about to lose the one person she love the most?
As if sensing her thoughts, Chrono wrapped an arm around her. Instinctively, she leaned into his touch.
“I’m still around, you know.” He whispered. “It’s not the end of everything.”
Carim smiled bitterly. “It is Chrono. Now that you have a family, a wife to return to, we can’t see each other like this. It would be wrong. And unfair to Amy. You love her, don’t you?”
“I do.” He replied quietly. “Not as much as I love you.”
“Then why did you do something so stupid?” She almost screamed at him. Almost. “Why did you-…”
Her words were cut off as Chrono embraced her, one hand stroking her hair.
“I’m sorry.” It sounded hollow even to him, but it was the only thing he could think of. “I’m truly sorry it has come to this.”
“Why? You could have told her to abort it.”
“But it would be unfair to the children. It’s my fault, not theirs. I should be the one to pay for it.”
“… Children?” Carim dreaded the answer.
“Twins.”
“… I see…”
For a while, neither said nothing. Hundreds of thoughts ran through their mind, but their only concern was the each other. At that moment, the world could have ended, and they would not care.
“Carim, I-“ Finally, Chrono made to speak up, but Carim placed a finger on his lips.
“Please…” Carim whispered “Stay with me tonight. One last night, one moment to remember until the end of time.”
Looking at those pleading eyes, Chrono knew he could not say no. It was supposed to be a simple night, dancing together, before they both part ways. And yet, he can’t bring himself to refuse her.
“Very well. May I have this last dance, my lady?”
“Of course.”

Chaos's the reason I even shipped Chrono and Carim together.

Its probably because of my long-time dealings with Belka, that I see Chrono and Carym more like tea buddies with inneundo sniping between the 2 of them rather than blatant shipping. Like a more subdued version of Adele and Calvados from Dog Days.
But I guess this viewpoint and ship preference was colored by me having a fic set during Carym's time as a child, then having her grow up into the Cardinal, and subsequently shipteasing her with many of the good Lords who work in the Three Pillars of the Church...
...well, 2 out of 3, considering that the 1st Pillar is exclusively magical space marine girls.

ANd please, Calvados and Adele from Dog Days are practically a couple to me. They're just Tsundere about it.

Spoiler for Romance between Adults is Complicated:
The Grand Cathedral in Northern Mid-Childa.
Compared to the Cathedrals of old this one is noticeably smaller, but at the same time it's still too big to simply call it a church. The inside of the structure can be considered unimpressive in a certain sense; for the headquarters of the Saint Church religious organization, it lacks a majestic presence- but supposedly the designers didn't want to make visitors feel insecure and overwhelmed by intimidatingly expensive decorations.
Though most likely it's because the church couldn't afford such luxury at the time.
Standing around leisurely in her room was Carim Gracia. As of right now it's 8am, she's inside the church and the candles lights were blown out by the cool morning breeze.
Carim sets a chair in front of the altar and sits on it. She’s wearing a simple nun’s robe that has a pure white base colour, with recognizable coloured threads like black, red, green, purple, gold and silver woven into pictures. Besides that, her clothes are covered in decorative cloth used for higher-order clergymen. This is formal attire worn when she’s visiting other people.
For someone like Carim, who’s different from normal Knights and Nuns, she has to prepare different sets of robes according to the season, time, location, occasion, position on the matter, and ambition. Sometimes she’ll purposely wear clothes that indicate a lower standing in order to raise the status of the guest; sometimes she’ll purposely wear clothes that indicate a higher standing to show her dissatisfaction…there’s a lot of ways to do this that are really complicated and troublesome.
Personally, she feels it's all too troublesome to do all these things, but just as her position provide several privileges, it also comes with several restriction of freedom.
Aside from her unique clothing, the most noticeable thing about Carim is her golden hair that reaches the length of her waist. The fluffy hair hangs over her shoulders and goes all the way down. Carim sits on the chair, places an entire set of gold and silver combs on her legs. She selects one from the pile of combs, which has different teeth length, width and spacing, and carefully lets her hair go past the comb like the strings of a harp. After combing all her hair through once, she changes to another one, and after that’s done, changes to another one. She continues to do this, as if the order of the combs used is very important.
Shining on her hair is the morning sunlight passing through the window.
"What are you doing?"
A displeased voice came from behind.
Chrono Haralown stood in the doorway with an exasperated look.
“Don’t you know? I’m combing my hair. A man shouldn’t be seeing a woman doing make-up.”
Carim chuckles.
“Several centuries ago, among the Belkan Noblewomen, there are methods to scorch their hair by either using the sun or the moon. The best-looking blonde hair is called the ‘Sun’s hair’, and it’s the greatest virtue for one to accomplish this. Isn’t it stylish to do this without the need of dyes? Ohoho~!”
Carim tries to stifle her exaggerated fake laughter as an attempt to further frustrate Chrono, but there’s no response from the man.
She twists her neck and looks at him.
“What’s wrong? What happen to your sarcastic remarks and snide one liners? To remain silent while I'm talking with you… Well, that's something I never thought I would live to see!”
There was still no response from Chrono.
Just when Carim was feeling puzzled...
"No... That's not it... Actually, I've been wanting to ask you something-"
Carim immediately replied him with three sets of two digit numbers.
"No, I don't mean your three sizes... But I appreciate it nonetheless."
"Oh well, those are fake numbers anyway... Then what is it you want to ask?"
"To be honest, your Midchildan sounds really weird. Do you have trouble with the language, or are you just treating me as an idiot? Which one is it?"
Carim stopped what she was doing.
The comb that’s gliding through her hair slightly trembles.
"W-W-W-WHAT ARE YOU SAYING?!"
"It's not that the words are wrong- the meaning is still there, it's just that... Well... Have you ever seen a creature called a platypus? There's nothing wrong with it biologically per say but-"
“You……you……do you know what you’re talking about!? There’s no need to talk about etiquette with a man who is a walking billboard for cardinal desires of every form of complex! Just some simple words is enough for you!”
"Just what are you going on about?" Chrono sighed. "Regardless, if you prefer to use such a special accent, it's alright. What I'm trying to say is that if you're frustrated about this, I can arrange to have you tutored privately myself... I don't want this to become an political incident between our two organizations just because one of our ambassadors couldn't stop laughing at your exotic form of speech."
“Uu! I’m not bothered by it! Why would I bother about a language?! Besides, you're the only TSAB liaison for the Saint Church, if there's any problems I'll just go to you straight away and pour out my troubled heart!"
"It's because I'm the only one for now that's why I want to fix that abnormality of yours so that other people can share my headaches! Hayate and the girls might be too polite to say anything but-"
"Eh? I don't speak like that to them."
"...What?"
"Whenever I talk to the Wolkenritters I use Belkan, when I talk to the other girls I talk like this."
Carim said all that in completely normal Midchildan.
"...I knew it, you're treating me like an idiot aren't you?"
"No I'm not!" Carim protested. "Verossa was the one who told me to use that speech when talking to important men! That's how normal Midchildans do things!"
"Please don't use such a suspicious individual as the basis of 'Normal Midchildan'..."
Wait, what did she mean by important men? Social status?
Chrono wanted to change the topic so he didn't pursuit the matter and said,
"However, why do you want to comb your hair in front of the guest? Shouldn't you have done it before having a conversation? You're the one that invited me over..."
Although she doesn’t like this topic, Carim feels that at least they can break away from the original topic, as her tone and attitude seems calmer than before.
“There’s no time. Actually, night is the time when women are in their bedrooms doing their make-up but I.... Nevermind, please don’t mind me doing this during our conversation.”
"But didn't you just say that a man shouldn’t be seeing a woman doing make-up?”
"If it's you then it okay."
What is that suppose to mean?
"...I knew it, you're treating me like an idiot aren't you?"
"I don't know what you mean."
Chrono signed.
"I guess that’s the result of the ‘Sun’s hair’ that you talked about, right? The myth about the moonlight should be a superstition, but the myth about the sun is actually due to the ultraviolet rays that caused the hair to lose colour pigments. This is probably an idea gained from books fading in colour due to overexposure to the sun. "
Carim looked mildly impressed.
"But I’ll give you some advice……you’ll get hair loss!” Chrono smirked.
“………This is rather rude when we’re still developing our diplomatic relations.”

"Eh? Chrono-kun has gone to see Carim-san already?" A girl in white military uniform and a long brown hair tied into a side-tail spoke. "Wasn't that suppose to be tomorrow?"
"Chrono said that its better to get an ugly business over and done with early rather than to let it hound you any longer..." A girl with blond hair and black uniform answered. "But still, I wish they would take things ease once in awhile... They said they're still developing diplomatic relations..."
"I wouldn't ponder about it too much," A girl with short brown hair and similar coloured Uniform shook her head sagely. "The romance between adults is a complicating matter... Too much reading in between the lines for my taste..."
... You know, that conversation is really familiar... like the one between a certain fire mage and a certain Archbishop...
And it looks like Chrono is quite the dense one.
