As in she's "canon" to a certain extent, and may be referenced in some way, but for the most part the series continues on as if the event with her may not have even happened and doesn't really show up afterward?

At least Mayuri will likely be canon in terms of the anime, and we might see some references to her and the events of Mayuri Judgement in a possible season 3, just like how there were references to the Index movie in Railgun S .

The Index movie is fully canon in the books as well (the manga poke fun at this by saying the elevator has been just off panel the whole time. But then again an event like that is just Tuesday to Touma.)

the first DaL game has too many issue for it to have fit either time line mostly centering around Origami (she was actively avoiding Shidou during the time between volume 4 and 5 and under house arrest in the old timeline, and well it doesn't work at all in the new.)

Except the appearance of Rinne's form in volume 11, and Shidou confirming that her appearance seemed familiar to him, seems to say Rinne Utopia is indeed canon for the novels. The fact that the way they made Rinne Utopia's story so it could fit into the novel canon (everybody lost their memory of Eden at the end of the game) also says they intended it to fit in the novels.
What doesn't fit into the novels is Arusu Install, with Maria surviving in Shidou's cell phone. Obviously there's no Maria in any of the novels, and Arusu Install had to happen between volumes 7 and 8 since there was no Natsumi.

Well, Shidou hasn't checked his phone to see if anybody is in there so it's possible for Arusu Install to be canon.

The way it is worded it seems it is the expression he is finding familiar, which is described as motherly rather then Rinne herself. As I mentioned there are quite a few events that couldn't have happened in the game due to timeline issues including all of Origami's interactions being impossible since she was under house arrest at the time.

Seems like it can go both ways, actually. Either he was referring to Rinne's appearance or the highly-seems-to-be-true theory that Phantom is his mother.

Also, considering the timeline issue. since

Spoiler for Rinne Utopia:

Rinne Utopia takes place in a fake world created by Rinne that she trapped everyone in

That could explain why Origami is not under house arrest.

I'm guess the author is being ambiguous when it comes to the games. There's no evidence of them happening but there's also no evidence of them not happening.

It was explained in the game that Origami was released and allowed back to active duty because of the current emergency. (the city being trapped inside the barrier)

Maybe Maria is still the Fraxinus AI during Shidou's date with Moegami that's why it has choices like go straight to a love hotel and the likes because she remembers the unchanged timeline.

The Kadokawa page still has volume 12 listed as 6/20, so it seems somebody got something mixed up when they typed that baka-tsuki page.
Or Kadokawa is just slow in updating its pages. But my money's on the former.

It was November in vol 11 and some of the short stories in Encore 3 took place around Christmas. So obviously vol 12 should take place in January or February. If the series will only cover a one year period then we're close to the ending.
