I guess that's it. The director should have put more emphasis on the series focus, instead he was more inclined to say there will be new henshin sequences, designs, and improved battles, but the ending will remain the same.

I imagine the director can only say so much without giving away the entire plot and focus of the movie. You don't want to ruin it for fans before they even see the promos. It was a smart move, on his part. Now people want to see the movie because they know it'll go into more depth as far as Fate's concerned.

True, but it does keep some people out of the loop, who are not paying attention to whats going on with it.

Since "rehash/repeat" doesn't exactly sound appealing to most people, hopefully they will have the bigger picture by the time of It's release.

Agreed, a simple line such as 'and we will dive into Fate's past more' wouldn't really have given away that much, but it would have whet the appetite for a lot of fans a lot more.

Hopefully It will be one of the quicker dvd releases and we have it by June-August.

Is the movie getting a DVD release for the States? I was under the impression that Funimation wasn't going to dub the rest of the Nanoha series because the first two seasons did so poorly in sales.

We have to wait for the DVD to come out in Japan to even watch a fansub, unless we want to watch it on a camrip, which is generally a... difficult experience...

Ah, I see. Explains why there's usually a gap of a few months between the first release of the movie and the release of fansubs.

Obviously some things are probably going to be cut out of the movie to make adjustments for the time limit of the movie. Most I can think of off the top of my head are the filler episodes up until Fate arrives, and maybe some scenes of Arf angsting in the original series.... though if they cut out the bit where Arf finally has enough and attacks Precia, I'll cry.

Two hours. That's (nearly) half of the entire first season, and the first four episods of the first season were pretty slowww. They will probably cut the jewel shard contest, and get right to the core of the season. Perhaps there will only be one full Jewel Shard to capture, so It's a fight for all the marbles, or something. Though they need to implement Fate's backstory too, so It's probably going to take a very different approach compared to the first season. From the trailer, I only recall one similar scene, and It's when Nanoha is running somewhere with her casual clothes. The rest looks new to me. Would be nice if it was a extra 30minutes though.

I expect the majority of this movie to be new material, and not 'the same scenes but shot a bit differently' like the Shana movie did.

Shana movie had the first half identical, and the second half entirely different, if I recall...But yeah, if it tries to be different like the second half of the Shana movie, that would be great.
