Here's a dumb question...

Is the old woman who curbstomps both Nanoha and Fate with subpar equipement part of the legendary three admirals? I find a somwhat considerable resemblance beteween her and the old lady sitting alongside the other two great admirals during that scene on StrikerS where Vita said she likes those old guys.

Yeah, IIRC, that was Midget Crowbel that took them both out.

Remember that she was never particularly interested in magic (unlike Nanoha).
Actually, Rein did have Bloody Dagger and Photon Lancer, while Battle of Aces showed that she has a buster and detonating bind too. At the very least. So she's hardly incapable of anti-personnel combat.

One theory is that when the Tome of the Night Sky was destroyed, Hayate lost all of the "stolen" data, like the Starlight Breaker and Photon Lancer and such. But there's nothing saying that Hayate has lost access to those, given how little she uses magic in the first place.

She used Diabolic Emission. That tells me that there is at least potential for her to remember all the other spells.

That's what I was thinking, but then again, Diabolic Emission is one of the "original" spells for Hayate and Reinforce, whereas spells like Starlight Breaker and Photon Lancer were gained from other spellcasters.

Which booklet was that one from?

In the TBoA continuity, Rein is still around to actually teaching Hayate to use her power, so it's not really indicative...

I was referring to the claim that Rein didn't have small stuff.

Not Midget. It's a different person, Vaan Corrodo, the Superintendant of the 4th Regiment Ground Forces Military Academy.

Hayate didn't lose anything. Before she was destroyed, Reinforce Eins compiled everything in the Tome into a "manual" (in Nanohawiki's terms) and passed it on to her. The knowledge is there, but to master whatever's available, Hayate still needs hands-on experience.

That's what I gathered, concerning the Tome; I was just simply relaying a theory that others have put forth.

Considering how simple it is to pass spells on to another person, it didn't make sense to me that Hayate would lose the knowledge of using Nanoha and Fate's spells; I simply figured that Tsuzuki merely wanted to show off new spells from Hayate, therefore instead of using Starlight Breaker and the like, we get new spells like Hiemdall and Hresvelgr.

The ones on Fate & Bardiche's NEXT design and, if we are lucky, some more on Nanoha with Fortress Mode and Strike Cannon 2nd NEXT design. IIRC someone mentioned that some supplemental material revealed that Raising Heart also received the 5th Gen upgrade but i'm not completely trusty on that info.

According to the Nanoha wiki it allows a mage's device "to convert mana into physical energy to counteract anti-magical effects" and that Bardiche has been upgraded into one.

Japanese wiki (third from the bottom). And it's "CorrAdo", after the VW car.
