I have to agree with this. I also agree that it isn't so bad that I'll drop it. Haruka is so adorable. It's a shame for her this is so lopsided.

Gekkou isn't getting any more palatable. Seriously, what genius? Defeating his brother on his own should be the very least he has to do before getting an attitude.

Much better episode, the pace was nice. I feel kinda sorry for Haruka, such a nice girl who missed her chance to make more direct assaults before Himea showed up. And man, that Gekkou is annoying. Genius this and genius that, I have yet to see him do something worthy of that title. Hope his cocky attitude gets more crushed in next episodes.

I don't believe there was ever any doubt that Gekkou's very intelligent, but it's just that when anyone seems to question him or his powers, that's almost always what he says in response, like it's his catch phrase or something. Annoying, ne?

As of the story right now, it's not so much that I think Gekkou believes himself to be a genius rather than he believes that he has to be a genius in order to succeed at his goals and overcome his little brother. And if he can't... then it's like admitting to himself that he'll never be able to surpass his little brother, and by extension overcome the fear that was instilled in him.

For me, Okarin had redeeming features that made him a likable character, so I was able to accept the Mad Scientist comments more easily. Plus, he did it in such an exaggerated manner that, with his Organization comments, I couldn't take it seriously.

Gekkou, on the other hand, is just smug about it, and I find no reason to like him at all. At this point, he's defined by his smugness and his desire for revenge, and neither of those make me like him more. I haven't liked any scene with him present, to be honest.

now that we're already at the 2/3 point of volume 2, I'll fill in some of the stuff missing from volume 1 that's causing misunderstandings.

Spoiler for short partial missing source material with regards to Gekkou's flashback:

It's obvious that Gekkou knows his level compared to Hinata. He's just acting like a tsundere. Though he is a genius compared to normal people.

Gekkou is not detestable actually (well sometimes he is, however). since from episode 3, we already know Taito did die seven times during the fight, I guess it's safe to post this with some censors:

Gekkou is a more interesting character than I had initially given him credit for. With respect to the above posted, does anyone have any particular theories as to why Gekkou seems so intent on killing his brother?

When I stop to think about it, I don't believe I've ever really seen him act out of a sense of hatred, much less acting on his parents' behalf.

due to the latest info I got from doramaga, I won't be bitching about the anime's butchering or bad adaptation sense anymore. since it's already pointless. though I encourage watchers of the series to follow the LNs at BT once it's over.

Well I'm pleased, because I don't need to guess anymore. Since ~~I know~~ I'm speculating intelligently that the story is going to be changed in many ways, and probably gunning for an original ending with no season 2. Which means I don't care about the anime anymore. Well, I'll still watch it, but I'll try to enjoy it as if it's a totally different story

. It's better than trying to guess and be in the dark, and get my heart stabbed with each butchering chop. At least, I'll try to enjoy the action and the fan-service.

The lesser of two evils, one could say. Well, as one who has to keep up with the translations, for the moment anyway, I'll wait 'till I've read ahead before coming back to the anime.

One last thing I'm curious about however. Has Kagami given any comments with respect to the anime?

Still, I didn't see much in the way of actual comments reviewing the show or anything on his personal take of it. Perhaps I didn't look back far enough?

Of course, with my memory in fragments, to be able to remember everything precisely is quite a tall order. But still, I don't think I will ever be able to forget the memory regarding that day. The day where everything took a hundred and eighty degree turn. That day started like any other. I woke up in the morning, went to elementary school, attended classes, passed the day without talking to anyone, and then came home. I didn't have a single friend, and that's how my day repeats itself everyday. Not having a common topic with anyone, not having a common view with anyone, and not sharing a common perspective of this world with anyone. "A true genius will be in isolation in the end." I just happened to see that documented in some book, though I think it's probably true. I was born a genius. Ever since I was born, I have held a view of the world differing from others. I realized that around the age of four. After realizing that, my heart was filled with an immense amount of loneliness. I couldn't connect with anyone else. Be it with friends or parents, I don't feel like talking to anyone else. I could only see everything as foolish. I could only see everyone as a fool. All this while, the world was shrouded in a shades of gray. That's why the only time when the void in my heart could be filled, when I could have a conversation, was the time when I talked to my younger twin brother. The only time when I was with my little brother, Kurenai Hinata. Since we are identical twins, we really look the same. Black hair, black eyes, the same height, the inside of our heads, and even the loneliness we bore as well. The two of us, having seen too much of the world at an early age, were in return isolated from the world, and could only shake in loneliness. That's this world only consisted of myself and my little brother. We have to live our lives depending only on each other. But that was what I thought. Gekkou and Hinata. Night and day. We would end up becoming broken if we didn't stay with each other, that was what I believed. But --- that was a big misunderstanding. A misunderstanding by the foolish me. My little brother was more of a genius than me. He carried a much deeper despair than me. That's why on that day. What must happen had happened. What had happened made me realize that I'm in truth a fool who had mistakenly thought that he could see everything. It's obvious that Gekkou knows his level compared to Hinata. But there was nothing there. I could not see anything there. "What the hell are you really......" As I said that, with a lonely expression, with a sad expression, from where he was standing --- He made a face that appeared to be looking down on me. Looking at that, my words stopped. Looking at that, my movements stopped. And I understood immediately. Ahh, this fellow could see something that I couldn't see. He was looking at something that I couldn't understand. In spite of having thought that we both possessed the same abilities, and carried the same solitude, Hinata shouldered a far greater darkness than me; that was what I had understood. Hinata looked at me. With a lonely expression, with a sad expression, but yet, a mocking smile floated on his face. "...... if you can't see it...... then there's nothing more I need from Nii-san." (CENSORED line due to potential spoiler) As he said that, he started walking. On hearing that. On hearing that, Saitohimea, "Eh? Eh? Wait a minute. Eeehhhh? (CENSORED)?" She asked him. But in response to that, Gekkou, "............" He did not reply. Dondon, dondon, he walked away. "Hey, did you hear me!?" "I didn't hear you. When I give my orders, just get your butt moving, trash. Aahh, I'll tell you one thing though,(CENSORED)" On hearing those words, (CENSORED) Her voice came from behind him.
