This was by the funniest episode of season 2 yet, and the flashbacks were really enjoyable, and I also hope we get to see how Mio got into music at some point would be interesting.
I can't decide if that, or Loli Child Mio was more cute xD.

I thought it was funny how in the opening flashback, lil' Nodoka and Yui referred to each other as "Yui-chan" and "Nodoka-chan". Then it cuts to present day, where Nodoka over the years have changed it to "Yui" and Yui... still uses "Nodoka-chan".

Come to think of it. All of the cast act very similar to the way they did so many years ago. |

There's a lot of people that think they're a couple now for all intents and purposes (no, not suggesting they make out... but there are some very deep bonds there)

You know at the beginning of this episode where loli Nodoka ran up to loli Yui and said " Yui-chan? Come on!"? The way Yui says "Oh, Nodoka-chan." was sooooo f*cking cute that I suddenly stopped breathing while holding my chest gasping for air.

This week on K-ON!! The idiot part of Yui's idiot-savant personality shines! Oh boy, does it ever shine. And some Mio x Ritsu backstory. And Mugi's a lonely, lonely person.
"She may look like an idiot, sound like an idiot, and act like an idiot. But don't be fooled, she really is an idiot." I'm not a fan of most Yui-centric episodes, and this one is no exception. Some might say this is buildup to some payoff where Yui becomes the goddess of sex, drugs, and rocks that roll; but all this episode established is that Yui's been this way right from the get-go. Six Nodokas laughing insanely out of ten.

Even though the we saw a bit Yui, Nodoka, Mio, and Ritsu's childhood, I agree that they should of showed Mugi and Azusa's too. Kind of sad that Mugi was a lonely kid because she's such a sweet and gentle girl.

It's a shame that Mio doesn't have an ally to avoid some childhood issues this time around, not even Azusa. As usual, both of the flashbacks from Yui-Nodoka and Mio-Ritsu were made of cheerful moments and heartwarming innocence. They really have changed their well-being except for Yui; although, she was really funny when she made her essay speech on the whole class and her eye-popping cosplay career on the latter.
Despite that, my favorite part was Ritsu doing a cliche yet dramatic scenario about 'Impossible.' I can't stop replaying it for some reason. |
