"Manhwa?"
Being Korean, I was surprised when I first saw the term "manhwa" used on ASuki.
Does anyone know the origins of this term? Like "shounen-ai?" [which was coined by English-speakers] Is it just me, or do any other Koreans [or people who speak it] feel like the word was sort of oddly translated from Korean to English? I'm beginning to realize how the Japanese feel when one of their words is mistranslated... |

The actual source is Chinese. "Manhua" or 漫画 which the Japanese took as for their kanji and pronounces it as "Manga". The Koreans probably used it as they heard from the Chinese but in their own pronunciation, "Manhwa". Clear?
