SEASON 2 of the anime annouced




i i'm a kanako X kyousuke fan, yeah you hear me, my rank is kirino X kyousuke, kanako X kyousuke then ayase X kyousuke, i really enjoy the new developments in volume 10, that ayase confession man that's just not fair, mainly tears were shed...
i'm still curious about the past of kirino and kyousuke, i played the PSP game got 98% complete (only a if kuroneko missing) and as i saw in the kirino and ayase route, since some said it was a foreshadow for future volumes i have to say, when kirino comfronted ayase about not handing over her brother i can see that happening in the novel...

i'm dying for the summaries of volume 10...really looking foward to it

I don't want to get into too many spoilers for the game in this thread (even though it's technically not canon), but I do agree that the latest novel developments remind me a lot of Ayase's plot in the game, and I could easily see them incorporating some of those elements in the novel story without it feeling out of place.

o.m.g. I really love this novel. It's pretty damn amazing.

You gotta love the cat fight! It was awesome. Now everything falls in place about the sex thing and all that. Of course, thanks again for the early translation Sumeragi. Now with a wider context it makes sense. And Kyo with his dad interactions...that is a damn amazing-funny series.

That little after-fight Kuroneko-Kyou dialogue that Ruri will also adopt the Kyou's doctrine about relationships is priceless.

About your question, other than Ayase getting pregnant or killing Kyo, i think there is nothing beyond that.

Daisuke seems to be really calm about how close the siblings have been. I mean, the two are acting like lovers, so one would think he'd react the same way as Yoshino, yet he seems pretty chill about it. Him saying that he'll be leaving Kirino to Kyousuke got my attention. Wasn't there something about him saying he'd rather hand Kirino over to a man much like himself when she brought Mikagami over in volume 7? Could this be...?

And it looks like Kuroneko really hasn't given up yet. Sigh, I just hope she doesn't interfere until the development between the siblings is over.

I feel like the dad knows something that no one else knows, maybe what happened in the past between Kyousuke and Kirino? Despite all the people who are saying that he is supporting their possible relationship ... I feel like you guys have to be dreaming because the character that the dad is made out to be ... I think he would murder Kyousuke if something like that actually happened. Even with his recent non-caring, I think its cause he knows nothing is actually happening so he has no true reason to worry.

Exactly the point, Soverence. The dad seems to know something about Kyousuke and Kirino, and as such he probably isn't going to deliberately intervene unless it's absolutely necessary. My feeling is that he would have reacted the same as with the actions of the other girls if Kyousuke and Kirino had a normal past relationship (which as I've been stating over and over, the two were not normal from the start).

All I can keep saying is that the author has been playing bait/switch/mislead/gotcha with the audience since the title on the first page. About the only thing I can assert is that the interactions have been fairly grounded in a 'real world' sensibility so far. I just certainly hope he doesn't let "shippers" start affecting the course of the story. That sort of jerking around almost always stands out like a sore thumb.

I really enjoy Kyousuke's awesome 'nightmare', the talk with Kirino, Kanako, Ayase, and Ayase vs Kuroneko. And Daisuke was really a bro, can't imagine Kyousuke and Daisuke assemble the cabinet for the naked figurine set together XD

Kinda scary though thinking how Ayase can get the key to Kyousuke's apartment and duplicate it

Ayase has another what if ending (aside from Kanako that branches from her route), IIRC. If you don't use eroge ORE item when Kirino knocked his room while Kyousuke and Ayase play eroge together, later Ayase will send anonymous threat mails to Kirino, Kuroneko, and Saori so they won't see each other and Ayase can have Kirino for herself

Its good to know some of Daisuke's views in the situation. Seems like he is becoming less bothered by their children's hobby than before. Maybe next time he'll sit down and play an eroge with both like in a certain doujin? lol

The only thing that comes off as weird about it all to me is that the mom doesn't seem to know whatever the dad knows (hence the reason her reaction is so much more dramatic then the dads). I can't even begin the fathom what he might know that the mom doesn't know. Well it wouldn't be a very interesting story now if Kyousuke and Kirino had a normal past / sibling relationship now would it

Chapter 2 was certainly a fun read, had me laughing pretty much all the way through the summaries Ayase still scares me ... I don't care how cute they try to make her, maybe its just because she oddly reminds me of Yuno for Mirai Nikki (why, I don't know) so I would be afraid of a dead Kosaka family ending with Ayase

Ah ah, I finally finished volume 10 last night.

Firstly, I need to say that I only glanced through the previous posts, so there might be repeated info. Ok, here goes.

My first comment is WTF is with Kyousuke becoming more and more like a harem lead!? Well, I didn't expect to be reading a harem story when I picked up Oreimo (if I want a meaningful harem story I'll pick something else, like OreShura - Ore no Kanojo to Osananajimi ga Shuraba sugiru, one of the best harem series I've ever read). Sigh, yes harem antics can be funny, but after reading so many volumes, I didn't expect Fushimi to use it as a plot device so blatantly here. I think what Fushimi was really saying in that interview was that Kyousuke is going to set some serious flags with different girls, based on what we have for Ayase this volume (yes, flags have been set previously, but it is maxed out in this volume). So I can expect other girls to get something in the next 2 volumes.

But, despite my complaints and some facepalming, I must say this is a pretty satisfying read. Because I have verified with my own eyes, and my own interpretation, that Kyousuke and Kirino are just siblings with a strong bro-con sis-con factor. That's all to it ladies and gentlemen. If I start again, this will probably be the fourth time on listing my points on why a romantic end between Kyousuke and Kirino is pretty much impossible (something backed by 80% of the more sensible people who actually read the novels, not the summaries or spoilers), so just go back to the posts ages past and read them if you care. Another satisfying part was how the so-called Ayase route was done to the point that I may even be able to accept her (though I'm still with Kuroneko). Though somewhat cliche, it was done nicely and it wasn't something random or unbelievable. Well, "so that's why there's a handcuff illustration on the back cover", I muttered to myself after finishing the volume. More on that later.

So far, the behavior between Kyousuke and Kirino are consistent to me. There may be teasers here and there, but like what Vexed mentioned before, those are just devices to create hilarious situations. People sure like to post scans of those 'critical' pages that tease so much. And like what Sumeragi explained, if only they posted the several pages that come before and after those 'critical' pages. But it's funny that even among the Japanese readers, the fanatics like to look for the extreme. Well, it can't be helped since this is a world of otakudom.

I'm just going to post a brief summary and outline from memory, since I don't have the book to refer to now. I'm not going to cover all the interactions (can't remember all of them anyway).

Spoiler for volume 10 in brief:

Volume starts with a family discussion. Like you all know already, their Mom is the one worried about their 'closeness' going into something beyond normal sibling relationship (more than their Dad). And of course the siblings were going WTF in not so many words. So finally, the condition is for Kyousuke to ace the entrance exams for his chosen university which will take place in 2 months, before he could move back.

Kirino made a bet with Kyousuke. If Kyousuke didn't ace the exams, he will be her slave for his entire life. If he did, she will listen to one request of his. Thus he moved and began his mugging days. But before that, Akagi told him about a fan blog on Ayase. Initially they thought that it's by one of her modeling co-workers.

On the first day (or 2nd?), Kirino visited him. She gave him a fridge (house warming gift) that she bought. Before leaving, afraid that he would be too bored with studying, she gave him an eroge entitled, "The Uninvited Little Sister Wife ~ The Forbidden Cohabitation". Kyousuke had facepalming monologue while Kirino was smiling in delight and rambling on how godly the game is.

Then comes Kanako the next day. She called Kyousuke the previous night to chat and ask him for his address because she wants to call on him. And she brought a bento to him. The truth was, she's learning cooking from Manami (introduced by Ayase) and wanted to learn to cook to make up with her Dad, since he had fallen sick and they were previously on bad terms (Kanako is currently staying with her big sister, who's a working adult). So she came to get him to test her bento. Also, she had deduced that he's Kirino's big brother. She found the eroge and blah blah blah. Nothing important. Just funny stuff.

Now Kyousuke starts visiting the Ayase fan blog every night after mugging.

When Kyousuke came back the next day, Ayase was there. She had heard from Kirino (or Manami, can't remember) that he had moved in by himself and came to drop by. For some reason, she had a spare key . They had some funny banter, and Kyousuke was talking about how she kept coming to bait him into sexually harassing her these days. ( oh incidentally, she managed to step on his face and he almost saw her panties *che* ~ Kyousuke's monologue ). Then, Ayase took out a kitchen knife from her bag. Kyousuke sweats www. But it's actually a 'house warming gift'.

Before she left, the Fallen Saint (aka Kuroneko) appears . Sparks flared between them with sharp words exchanged (shuraba da!). So they started talking about who's more of a friend and ally to Kirino. Ayase provoked Kuroneko by saying how Kuroneko had 'stolen' Kirino's brother from her and how Kirino wanted herself to be 'number 1' in Kyousuke's heart, and how Kyousuke has chosen 'Kirino' in the end (though we all know that it was Kuroneko who initiated the breakup). She went as far as to call her a thieving cat. Here, Kuroneko clenched her fist and this is where Kuroneko declared that she doesn't mind Kyousuke having *** with his little sister, if that's what Kirino wants. Ayase went into shock and was paralyzed for 10 turns (literally). Then she asked Ayase would she be able to do the same? Ayase said 'no way'. After that, she couldn't move for quite a while and Kyousuke and Kuroneko talked as if she wasn't there. In a halting manner, Kyousuke asked Kuroneko 'did Kirino say that she wants to have *** with me?'. After a few seconds, Kuroneko trembled and stammered 'Tt-hat's... not it. I-it was just an example! Just an example!'. Kyousuke's monologue, "even if it's an example, this kind of talk is really dangerous. Is this nutty woman ok? fortunately, Kirino isn't here." Kuroneko then gave him a bento (and she actually came to show him her new uniform ).

After Aayse left, they chatted and Kyousuke said that, before he completely resolved matters with Kirino, he won't be dating anyone. Kuroneko smiled and said, 'just according to my plan' (refer to Kuroneko's Arcadia plan of reconciliation in v8).

That night, Kyousuke's Dad came to visit and brought him food. He saw that he's studying and also asked him about the fridge, to which he replied honestly. Then he found the eroge, "The Uninvited Little Sister Wife" ww . Kyousuke braced himself to get beaten up, but he wasn't. Kyousuke's Dad then said, 'What's the point of me beating you up? That's Kirino's eroge, isn't it?' So, he actually knew about it all along. Well, he then got Kyousuke to write down all the things he received from people (which was kind of funny ). At that point in time, a gift was delivered. It was a huge nude figurine of "The Uninvited Little Sister Wife" series from Akagi, and in the end, Kyousuke's Dad helped him assemble the figure case. (later, when Kirino found out, she began to wonder whether their Dad will be interested in the game )

The day of the housewarming party. Akagi couldn't attend Kanako crashed in, so the party consisted of Kyousuke, Kirino, Kuroneko, Saori (ojou-sama mode), Ayase, Kanako, and Manami. Shuraba da! This is totally a harem story now . In the end they begin to argue who will take care of Kyousuke's daily needs, food and cleaning. Kuroneko and Manami are good in household chores and cooking, Kanako has nothing really going for her but she joined in the fray, and Saori said she would use the power of money . Kirino kept quiet for a while. Ayase kept wanting to speak up but didn't. Finally Kirino asked them to all shut up and stop disturbing Kyousuke's studies and started eliminating the candidates. Kanako is half-assed in cooking so she's out. Kuroneko is staying far right now and it's inconvenient for her, so she's out. Same goes for Saori. As for Manami, she doesn't like her so she's out. In the end, Ayase's the one left, and Kirino requested her help. The reason being she's good in cooking, and she's the least likely to affect Kyousuke's studies since she hates him. Ayase accepted.

Last chapter is about Ayase and Kyousuke. Ayase said that this is a chance to thank and repay Kirino...... and also Kyousuke for what he had done for her (helping her to mend her relationship with Kirino, and listened to her problems, etc. etc.) She admitted that she hadn't been honest to him, the rest, and even herself. Some good conversation went on between Kyousuke and Ayase. Later, she also asked where she can buy the figurine (the nude one mentioned earlier which was sitting in Kyousuke's house) and asked whether this is something Kirino would like. So in the end, she was spotted by the fan blogger buying a figurine at Akiba and her photo posted. The blogger (by the name of Sayaka) then commented on how Ayase had betrayed her and she better repent. Fortunately, the blog was a small-scaled one and there were only like 10 views per day. Ayase was unaware of all these. Kyousuke then called Mikagami to consult with him. Mikagami will discuss this with their management company. Meanwhile, he will try to protect Ayase by sending her to and fro while disguising himself as a girl. (Hinata visited during this time while Ayase was taking a shower, but I shall gloss over it for now due to lack of time; it's just funny and nothing serious).

Finally, the day of the exams came. He got a "do your best" message from Kirino. And also a message from Mikagami. He checked the blog after reading his message and found that the blogger said, "It's a pity Ayase-chan has not repented". As Kyousuke stepped out of the house, he was greeted by Ayase who was also cheering him on. Kyousuke then decided to tell her about the stalker and said, "I have something to tell you. You should be mentally prepared." Ayase turned red, put hands against her chest and asked him to continue. Kyousuke, "You have a stalker!" Ayase, "Eh.........? Is this the kind of confession a hentai will make?" . After some banter, then the stalker blogger appeared just as Kyousuke was about to pat Ayase on the head. A scuffle ensued (not exactly, but sort of), and Kyousuke fell from the stairs and injured his right hand (or arm). After verifying that he's alright, Ayase gave chase to the fleeing Sayaka. Kyousuke caught up as Ayase pinned Sayaka against the wall. Before anything else happened, he pulled them apart and asked them to calm down. Then invite Sayaka in to talk it out and clear up the misunderstandings. It turns out that Sayaka is a 12-year old and is in the elementary school that Ayase was in. And Ayase used to be in charge of her class as a senior, and blah blah blah. And Sayaka started admiring Ayase and saw her as perfect and was upset by Ayase's actions (such as visiting her boyfriend ~ Kyousuke ~ everyday and doing ecchi stuff - LOL at her imagination. And buying ecchi figurines). This reminded Ayase of the time with Kirino, on how she saw her as perfect and couldn't accept it when she found out she was an Otaku. Anyway to cut the story short, everything was resolved amiably and Sayaka apologized (wait for the detailed summaries from others if yall want to know).

Finally, Kyousuke made it to the exam in time and managed to finish his papers with his left hand.

The results came and he aced the exams! *woah*. So he moved back. In horror, he found out that his room had become a storage room for Kirino with posters and other otaku stuff www . Later he talked to his Mom as she congratulated her on his results. And his Mom said, "Ah, I've never thought that you will lay your hands on your little sister. It was just my ploy to get you to study." ~ Kyousuke went DANG! ~ (Kyousuke's Mom, you and I are on the same wavelength www). Anyway that's about it, so later Ayase came to see him, thanked him, blah blah blah, and admitted she has been dishonest all this while and confessed.
