The basic idea is that the character are personification of game consoles, worshipped as goddesses - complete with churches, with Neptune (representing the never released SEGA Neptune) being the main character. Each of them has also a goddess form, in which usually their personality shifts somewhat (for good or bad depending on the characters).
The story in general it parodies games, anime, and console war (the latter being phased out in the latest game, V), with wacky characters and odd situations, in the world of Gamegyokai (JP) / Gameindustri (NA). In the first two games the focus was against piracy, represented by Magiquone (JP version) / Arfoire (localized version), a villain representing stuff like the R4 carts. |

The only bit of story that has been revealed is that the "evil goddess" Magiquone (aka Arfoire in the English version) unleashed monsters in Gamegyokai, and it's up to Neptune and the others to stop them. Aside that, it'll cover "the bonds and friendship" between Neptune and the other goddesses.
People are assuming that it'll be after V just because Neptune has the V costume, but since no info has been given (tomorrow at ACE there will be the official unveiling - up to now not even the staff is known) I'd say it's too early to tell. |

They showed a PV at ACE, there's basically no info save a few tweets by a guy, the director is Musai Makahiro. If it's the same as the ANN page, he worked on a few episodes of BEN-To. He also (supposedly) said that he played the game (original one) just once, the story will be original but with the events of the game. The OP is called "Dimension Tripper", by nao.
Original source (take that as you will, needs more indipendent sources): https://twitter.com/hesa_na EDIT: The official twitter will report what has been shown and said at ACE later today. |

The PV sure displays much more... cheap cut in than really any animated sequence, which also show quite many washed out colors. Obviously not going to set expectations high, especially how unlikely an anime was to be released to begin with, but still not exactly eye candy if you ask me
