So, got kinda sidetracked by Infinity, but up to chapter 18 in Future Tense.

"Ah, but you see, Hayate has an excuse for all this villainous behavior! She lost two members of her family, and wants to make sure no-one else goes through that! It's very deep and - oh, she brought them both back to life? Nevermind, then."

Maybe not side stories, but I really wish I could write one Nanoha chapter without being haunted by both a Fate Stay Night/Assassin's Creed and a Zero no Tsukaima/Dragon Age xover bunnies Dammit, just another fight scene to go, focus!

She had only very recently got them back. And they weren't the only ones who died, either. Remember, the first one to go was Nanoha.

But yes, Hayate does seem to be going a wee bit extreme, eh? Wonder if there is still something more going on that we don't know, yet? ;p

On a slightly different note, going with the recent discussion about delays and such, the next chapter of FT will be delayed a bit. Work has been kinda heavy lately, and so I haven't had time to finish up the last couple of scenes. Unless I catch a break sometime this week, it might not be until the weekend when I get it out. x_x

Still sort of kills any development you could have had there. If the main villain has everything she wants, suddenly she's not that sympathetic anymore. Not that you've really been trying to make things gray, but the potential was there.

It also brings back people you'd killed to establish the setting as bleak, but I guess given what they are it's acceptable.

Poor children, they got most pain-loving teacher in the world (well, at last one of the most pain-loving).

I already can imagine something like this:

Riksaflto: Now kiddos, perform 1000 push-ups, no complaining!

Oops, Nanoha isn't at home right now, remember?

And isn't it supposed to be winter break now? Which is why they sent Nanoha and Fate off to training.

Oh, that is going to be fun isn't it? Reactions will be priceless. What do you do if your teacher is a enemy... prove they don't have a liscense and take legal action.
Why do I have this 'School of Rock' thing in my head, except it's gym with Riksfaito becoming incredibly awsome?

My imagination is too vivid sometimes. It would probably explain my attention span tends to suck when it comes to focusing on a single story.

Ooops, you're right.

Winter Break don't last that long.

it's been over two weeks now since they started training.

The excuse is that they're in Europe learning stuff.

There are those of us who wrestle with our muses, bleeding from our ears in order to keep from making our "release schedule" look more like the timing of a miraculous visitation...

...and then there is Nanya.

Nanya is what those of us with nonexistent release schedules wish we could be, even as we know we'll never catch up.

If only life were that simple. My fic for another series is already shaping up to be 1 new chapter ever two weeks or so, and I still have school to worry about.

Even more so when 1,000-2,000-word papers every couple of weeks are the norm.
