favorite world theme's

i don't think there is a topic like this yet. if there is you can lock this one.

i've been thinking for a while now about how older games had many different themed worlds. personally a theme of a world gives that world an unique atmosphere. so i was currious what your favorite world theme's are.

10. beach cove world
9. lava world
8. machinery world
7. light illuminated world
6. musical world
5. frozen world
4. crystal cavern world
3. aquatic world
2. haunted house world
1. blocks in air world (ex: secrets from mario sunshine)

I had to immediately think about the world themes from Final Fantasy VI. They are called 'Tina' and 'Searching for Friends' and hearing them sends cold chills down my spine every time

Final Fantasy 6 is truly a gem when it comes to good music in video games. Both Tina/Terra and Searching for Friends are among my favourites.
That was a nice remix there, though I hoped the recognizable part stood out more. If you like those orchestral versions of Final Fantasy music, search for Tour de Japon on YouTube. The Theme of Love is amazingly well done.

But to stay ontopic: I usually like those space-like settings. Just a black background with white dots is good enough for me.
Fire, Autumn or very colourful/magical themes are great aswell.

I agree that FF6 has some of the best music ever, my favourite would be Celes's theme. I was teary the first time I heard it in the game. Nobuo also carried FF6's music into the later FFs.

For world settings, I'd love a good futuristic-medival mix. A world where technology, magic and swords mix and conflicts are solved by fighting lol.

And Corridors Of Time is all forgotten.

Perhaps the re-release of Chrono Trigger on the DS at the end of this year will....reawaken the zeal of this melody.

As for worlds in general.. i don't really know. Mostly worlds that are not normal. I'm somewhat sick of defined generic jungle, ice or fire worlds. And i really hate machine worlds.

Mmmh.. i like beach worlds and "abstract" worlds like Devil May Cry 3's "heavenly hell" (i just made that up). Or Kingdom Hearts' "End of the World".

lol I love Ice Cap Zone as well, my favourite zone and song as well in the entire Sonic franchise I've seen. Classic Sonic games had a whole lot of unforgettable catchy songs.

Sadly I've not played any of the Chrono games, but my DS is very well waiting for the remake.
