microsoft online svcs

can anyone please help me, i just got my dads creditcard bill and there was around 25$ (19,99euro) billed from microsoft online svcs?! and i don't know what the heck thisis i never payed for any ms services....

That's a load of crap, I can't believe M$ and retailers would try to pull off something like that. As if I didn't hate them enough already. At least it seems that you can get your money back though, and I hope to god that lawsuit smacks those companies in the face. Well, I don't use Windows and I build my own PC so I guess I'm safe from this attack (or am I? )

I'm half though the article but a question popped into my mind: How did MS get your credit card number/account number to bill you? Don't tell me, you just gave it to MS - I wouldn't even give MS my most hated enemy, that's just to cruel
Other than that: Why Microsoft has to resort to scams like that, I don't know >_<

Well, if you give your credit card to Best Buy in order to purchase the computer....

My point is that wherever he bought the computer he probably used a credit card so the company probably just passed the billing information on to Microsoft as required by their contract. It doesn't have to have been a Best Buy that he gave his credit card number to.

Well i also build my own computer, i have used linux for a while! But then i bought FFXi so i had to use windows XP again. I never gave my creditcard info to anything microsoft related. So i really don't know how they got my CC information...

NoSanninWa i bought all my computer parts in cash so that couldn't be it

Are you sure? What about MS Software? Did you pay that in cash as well or in virtual money (read: downloaded )?
