And there isn't a Railgun novel; just the manga. (which isn't horribly action-packed either)

There is a railgun novel ^^. If you looked hard enough you're gonna find the raw somewhere. It's published in chapters monthly IIRC, I'm not too sure about the realease frequency but I have the novel up to 8 chapters(In fact, one of the member posted the illustration in earlier pages).

The Railgun novel was just a bonus included with the Index DVD/Blu-ray LEs.

I hope the upcoming Railgun anime will amass more interested translators, prompting for faster translation. If only...

So many interesting and fun events happening already. I think I want to read vol. 16-18 more than vol. 13-15...with the developments happening at England. All the new characters sounds entertaining and awesome. Their design is superb, a given coming from Kiyotaka Haimura.

16. A bit too heavy on the kanji though, so I'd have to read it in-depth to get deep details, and I've been a bit too busy for that lately, unfortunately.

and about mikoto doesn't show up when its the side of magic.... yep she doesn't show up their. and index doesn't also show up much when its sciences side. It balance the two heroine. And for now the main topic is the magic side so no biribiri..... I miss mikoto its been 2 volumes already.

Hmmm, I've got a question to enyone who has read vol 18. I'm kinda confused on the story(maybe becuz of my lack of japanese proficiency), but is Floris on the good guy side or not? She seems to spent some time with Touma without any intention of capturing him. And one more question, is Aqua no longer on the side of Fianna? It seems Fianna is on th second princess side while Aqua is on the third princess side. Thx in advance.

Fianma and Aqua are on their own side. Fianma is acting on his own to collect the materials he need, when Aqua is simply fighting for his own justice.

And Floris? She is just on hire, nothign more and nothing less.

Okay here's the thing.

I like to apologize since i made a mistake. That girl is not the Queen of Tokidawai.
When i first watch the raw, i thought it was her since the girl had a similar hairstyle like the Queen & i felt that Ojou vibe from her.

Then i finally watch the subs & realize that i made a mistake. First, the girl from ep1 is named Kongo Mitsuko and the Queen's real name (Which i checked & translated from Japanese Wikipedia) is Shinri Shouaku. ( My first mistake of not checking her name.) Furthermore, Mitsuko is new to Academy City and said she'll reach Level 5 before Kuroko but the reputation of the Seven Level 5's are already known to the people of Academy City.

As for who is Mitsuko, i'm not sure. She could be an original character, a character from the novels or the Railgun manga that we have yet to see translated.

Again, i apologize for giving you the wrong idea that she was one of the Level 5's but hopefully the Railgun anime might show 3 of the Level 5's later.
