Underrated Animes?

Basically I've seen all the popular series IE: naruto, trigun, cowboy bebop, get backers, full metal, macross...etc...(most of the top 100 at www.animenfo.com)

Looking for animes like condor hero etc... any genre is fine

thanks in return

Princess Tutu. Don't be put off by the name. Also don't be misled by the first episode. This is a very dark and thoughful anime. Give the show a few episodes to develop or else you'll never know what's going on.

check out Princess Tutu, most ppl avoid it because of the name. Dont judge its book by it cover. It does have some ballet dancing but dont let that put you away.

edit: For comedy/love check out Tenshi na konamaiki

Princess Tutu is really good. Unless you really really hate fairy tales, I suggest you give it a try. The first half of the story is pretty light-hearted, however, that changed in the later half of the series. The overall story is very intriguing and a little bit too dark for small kids I think.

I love the music in this series, composed mosly by tchakiovsky (the nut cracker).
The show is very dark and has it's cool moments like in ep13,
after that ep it gets much more darker and you thought it ended. Theres
lots of character developement, specialy with fakir and ahiru. I can care
less about the prince, he's such a wuss who does nothing till the last ep.
The show may look kiddish but sure hell i wouldn't let any kid watch it.

yet another thread to spread the wealth in..
devilman - 3 movies
devilman lady - 26 episodes
not many know of these.. but everyone should, and you might not want the kids to see these.. unless your kids are already into all the dark stuff at a young age like i was (and not many are to my understandings)

Yeah, Princess Tutu is really good. It is a mixture of modern day happy fairy tale, ballet, and the good old original Grimm's style of fairy tale which was NOT meant for little kids. I mean, heck, if you ever read the original sleeping beauty, I think it's called Sun and Moon? Prince Charming raped Sleeping Beauty while he was already married.

mmm... If you like Condor Hero watch the Legend of the Condor Heroes Live Action 2003. That is the first story that leads into the Condor Hero.
(The author of this set of novels is like the JRR Tolkien of Asia...really well known)

First Story ===> About Youka's Uncle and Aunt, more focused on the Uncle though (warning, the first two episodes that are out, the main characters haven't appeared yet)

Second Story ===>Youka and Koko's story.

Have you seen any E's Otherwise?

Another vote for Princess Tutu!

I've seen now first 4 episodes and it gets better and better. The story gets more and more involved with each episode.

Why bother? You probably can't watch what I recommend either:

A. You will deem it to be "old" anime
B. It's probably not even out in the States.

I'm rather leaning towards the manga w/ Flame of Recca.

Underrated: DBZ and DBGT.

For a person who likes Yuyu Hakusho u sure don't appreciate DBZ and GT. Well its all good, I ain't arguing w/ ya! I just feel like DBZ isn't getting justice since a lot of fighting anime are inspired by DBZ. Considering that most mangakas respect Toriyama and we don't. Peace out. ^_^

Exactly. Go and buy it.

Or Cosplay Complex! (licensed but not released, so you can't do anything about it)
Or Kokoro Library! (good OP. it's just plain good.)
And the 'Tutu of course...

Just curious, but why do you think there's a lot of fighting anime inspired by DB (I don't watch it so I'm just wondering). And are you sure it's not the myth behind DBZ that things are based on? (DBZ, by the way, is based on the very famous Journey to the West as far as I have heard)
