That's an interesting part. It could mean a lot, or nothing, it's difficult to say.
I think you can understand that this is something that pisses off Jessica. She's not pissed at Battler but at the attitude of people who don't want to get on the stage because they are not the main character. So what is it? Probably people that have talent and good qualities that will never shine because they lack confidence or they believe they should maintain a low profile. If you look it this way maybe Jessica is just remembering Kanon, his conviction of being just furniture. That also explains the bad memories she wants to dispel. But since it isn't told explicitly you can't know if there's more than this.

Yeah like I said I kinda can follow the first part. Just when she seems to get depressive threw me off. Applying it to Kanon does kinda make sense though like you said it could mean a lot. But while thinking about it I remembered that another person uses the stage analogy in matters of Kanon...Beatrice. Well like the cackle-thing and stuff this isn't really important I guess. Thanks

So I've recently gotten a friend into the series, and she's currently a little past the second twilight of EP2. We were discussing things earlier, and she pointed out something I'd never noticed before.
It's in the parlor scene after the red text's first introduction, before Rosa comes back and everyone goes to Jessica's room...specifically, when Gohda says he'd have noticed a suspicious weight in anyone's luggage, Battler says that for his family's there was "some changes of clothes, medicine, and Kyrie-san's makeup". (SG2 is myself) <VelkynKarma> somebody in Battler's family is on medication O_o <SG2Tiger> :O <VelkynKarma> since I would assume the house is stocked with basic counter prescriptions but if you need something specific you'd have to bring it, it must be important <SG2Tiger> ...I must have missed that. ...that's...weird. <SG2Tiger> Ange's the sick one <SG2Tiger> And...she stayed home. <VelkynKarma> well <VelkynKarma> I doubt it's like cold medicine or anything simple like that <VelkynKarma> like I said, the house probably has that, they have a family living there after all. And there IS a doctor. <VelkynKarma> But if they had some specific illness or something that they needed prescribed drugs for, they'd have to bring it <SG2Tiger> The only member of the family member who we KNOW needs something special like that is Jessica and her inhaler <VelkynKarma> well <VelkynKarma> I wonder who it is now XD <VelkynKarma> it might not be a reactionary thing like Jess's inhaler either, it could be preventative What she's saying is that they probably wouldn't bother packing medicine for something like a cold, but if it was a daily required medication of some sort, they'd need to bring it along. Either way I thought it might be interesting as it's something I overlooked (been a while since I read EP2 anyways), and I don't recall ever hearing anyone ask about it on the forums before. Anyone have any ideas on what kind of medication they might have packed, and which of the three it could have been for?

When Battler introduced himself in episode 1 he mentioned a suspicious drug he took, and he suggested it was steroids. Other than that I don't know what it could be. Unless Rudolf packed some Viagra.

Viagra is impossible XD but it could be headache pills, some people just bring them along everywhere. However it's strange that Battler would bother mentioning a single box of pills, how many medicines do they need to bring? they aren't even supposed to stay that much.

On a serious note If the pills are prescribed by a doctor they could be anything from antidepressants or anti seizure meds to headache pills or pain killers. If you mix those with sleeping pills they can be used like poison. And remember this is 1986 we're talking about. Some pain killers and other pills still aren't off the counter pills yet because their patents haven't run out at this point. After patents run out the medicine is no longer privately owned and it becomes cheaper as an off the counter drug owned by many different brands that anyone can buy.

Attempt to solve this EP
Me and a friend are trying to solve the riddles of this episode. So far, we've reached the point where the servants meet with 'Kanon' but we are stuck...
Spoiler for Spoilers for up to EP4 in these theories.:
Hoping that someone here might find this interesting! |

Shannon does use it to bolster her defensive magic, and Beatrice tells her she could have done even more with more time to prepare. There are theories that the mirror is a metaphor for truth, but we never get any further information about it though, since it disappears after Episode 2.

So admittedly, I was bored reading this for about the first hour. After that though, it started to pick up really quickly and I was intrigued. Even though it's a question arc, I hope that it'll provide atleast a few answers to some of the many questions I have.

It'll provide some answers, but those answers aren't necessarily trustworthy. That first hour is very important, however, for explaining a bit about Kanon and Shannon's characters, and giving a possible explanation for why these killings are even happening.
