GAINAX is known for utilising individual staff's creativity in maximum (and low budget, maximum efficiency-principle, too.), which is directly antithesis of Kyoani's dogma. As long as Gainax is there, something incredible will happen.

Hopefully that's the case because right now I have this theory of a show trying to appeal to otaku and getting them to buy cars by exploiting their love of cutesy character designs. I don't mean to be a huge downer here (though for many I'm sure it won't be an issue), but at the moment, with as little information as we have, I just can't get past the fact that there are four moe-moe character designs up on the website and that the first thing that makes me think of for a series concept is that 4-girl "slice of life" fluff formula being put into practice with some car-related stuff injected in the background (possibly the K-On of car shows), and that's not my cup of tea.

I guess I'll wait for more information before getting too excited over this one, pretty as the background art looks.

Looks like the perfect chance for Gainax to redeem themselves after Panty and Stocking. They really dropped the ball with that show.

My guess, particularly given the previews we've been given, is that the shows will emphasize hobbies and situations where you have to go places where Public Transportation can't get you. So one girl being into Star Gazing and we see what the night sky can be after a while on the open road seems very plausible, particularly if she is named after the constellation and the car. Another girl being into butterfly collecting or such could be another tie in, and so on.

So, what other ideas we got out there?

That would be kind of dumb on their part. Since Subaru vehicles are sold in tons of countries, wouldn't it make since to simulcast it in those countries? Just a thought.

Looks slightly more promising now that it looks to be a magical girl anime as opposed to Gainax's answer to the K-On's of the world . Gainax's zany writing style can potentially do something interesting with this I hope.
