BERLIN (AP) — Petra the swan has a new home and so does her beloved swan-shaped paddleboat.
In 2006, Petra, a black swan, became so attached to the boat — shaped like an outsized white swan — that she refused to leave its side at a lake near a zoo in the German city of Muenster.

Petra and her paddleboat were taken to the zoo.

Zoo officials finally parted bird and boat last week after Petra settled down with a real white swan and the boat was returned to the lake. But the romance was short-lived. The zoo says that, on Saturday, her new beau flew off and sought out the company of other black swans.

A zoo statement says that Petra "appears to feel lonely" and is swimming around in an agitated state. The solution? On Friday, she will be taken back to the nearby lake and her faithful paddleboat.

of some sheep on his farm. After a few weeks the farmer
decided to put up an electric fence.

'few teeth?'

Wow, I didn't know that they had fangs in the middle of their mouths' too. Those are fangs right?

Hard to tell given it's position, but I'd say that snake is at least 12-13 feet long. Looks like it just ate too, judging by that huge bulge. Possibly a sheep, looks about right given the size of the snake. Though if this happened over a few weeks, that one snake couldn't be responsible for all of the sheep, maybe 2 tops inculding the one it probablt just ate. They just don't digest their food that fast. I'd say there are more out there preying on the guy's sheep.

Not all snakes are poisonous. In fact all pythons are all constrictors. That means they strangle pray instead of poisoning them. here. *is snake fan*

the smaller and brightly color a snake the more likely it is poisonous. The bigger and more dull color and the more likely it is not poisonous.

Woman tries to rob a bank using a stinkbomb

In an impressive addition to the ridiculous bank robberies Hall of Fame, a bank robber in Austria tried to stage a hold-up using a stink bomb.

The woman took out a box which she claimed contained a deadly explosive and slammed it on the counter, at which point the glass vials inside shattered – filling the bank with a foul stench.

She fled the Volksbank branch in Hinterbruehl empty-handed, followed by the bank staff – who were forced outside to escape the smell.

Redsox Fan Fails to Curse Yankees

NEW YORK (AP) -- A construction worker's bid to curse the New York Yankees by planting a Boston Red Sox jersey in their new stadium was foiled Sunday when the home team removed the offending shirt from its burial spot.

After locating the shirt in a service corridor behind what will be a restaurant in the new Yankee Stadium, construction workers jackhammered through the concrete Sunday and pulled it out.

Some people take things like this a bit too far. It's not the Yankee's fault the Redsox only have a slightly better post season record than the Cubs.

A father and daughter who had a child together say it is society that has a problem with their incestuous relationship and they are OK with it.
John and Jenny Deaves from South Australia caused controversy after admitting on national television last week that they had a 9-month-old daughter together.
"It's everybody else out there in society that has the problem, we don't have the problem," Jenny Deaves said on Australia's "60 Minutes" Sunday night.
"If you've got something to say, say it for Christ's sake," her father, John, said. "Don't go attacking the kids or the car or anything else, it's not the Australian way."
"We're sure once people get to know us they'll realize that we're not going to pass on any disease to them, we're not going to bite their head off and we're not nasty terrible people," Jenny Deaves said.

In response to the Japanese popularized Valentiens Day and White Day rituals, South Korea creates Black Day for the loveless.

SEOUL (Reuters) - It was a Black Day for love in South Korea on Monday with lonely hearts trying to ease their pain by diving head first into bowls of noodles.

South Korea celebrates Valentine's Day, where local custom dictates women give gifts to men. It has taken on a popular event born in Japan but sweeping Asia known as White Day on March 14 when men return the favor with gifts for women.

But Black Day, on April 14, is a South Korean original. It is marked by people who have not found love dressing in dark colors and commiserating over meals of black food, with the dish of choice being Chinese-style noodles topped with a thick sauce of black bean paste.

"I had a miserable time on Valentine's Day, felt even lonelier on White Day and now I'm crying over a bowl of black noodles," said a young women who asked only to be identified by her family name Na out of embarrassment.

"Things better be different next year."

At universities across the country on Monday, students without lunch dates ordered black noodles, dined with other lonely hearts and searched for companionship.

South Korea marketers have hatched special days for the 14th of each month to create a calendar laden with love.

Some days have gained traction such as Black Day, while others such as Green Day in August, when couples are supposed to drink cheap liquor that comes in green bottles and walk in the woods, have yet to attract much of a following.

Black Day events have snowballed, with a major matchmaking service this year providing an evening of speed dating where the dish of choice is sushi blackened by squid ink.

An on-line company for movie tickets sponsored a speed eating competition of black noodles for those who bought single tickets for the latest films.

"It is depressing enough going to the movies by yourself," said Shin Youn-joo of the company called Max Movie.

"We just wanted to spread a little joy to the 'with-outs'."
