Okay, it's time for all the artists to shine with knowledge I seek.
Out of boredom, I began working on my very first picture (lineart + coloring). It started off quite well after I read a lineart tutorial depicting a usage of pen pressure. But then came a problem. Is there any way to force Photoshop into making the thickest part of path between every two anchor points and not only in the middle of a whole path layer selected? It's really troublesome to make any decent looking hair this way. Ah, yes. I do not own a tablet nor do I want to hear "Make two paths to simulate the pressure and fill the selection.". What I want to hear is - are there any other ways to do it?

Unfortunately, the pen tool with pen pressure will only make the thickest part of the line in the middle of the two points if you don't have a tablet.
The only other way would be to create shape layers (not two paths) instead of a line. You'd be able to control the shape of the line, it'll just take a little more time that way. Sorry, I know you don't want to hear that, but that's pretty much the only other way. ^^;

Muscular, you say...that's a funny thought. Surely I didn't want her to end up looking like John Rambonyan~. But it's noted, thx for telling. A few more comments from other people would be welcome though, with this being my first drawing (already working on a next one, this sure beats making sigs), I'm sure there's a lot more flaws just waiting to be found. Good luck with that.

Shameless bump! Yay! Made some stuff to keep this place alive.
Some avies here and there... ...a request sig... ...and me refreshing my memories of working with 3ds Max (images in chronological order of production). Went with a japanese style interior...hopefully I'll make a couple rooms with complete sets of furniture and other details. Oh, and please, don't mind that fabric fail in the second pic and those tean/purple placeholders, if possible. Any ideas, thoughts or anything else is appreciated. I really want to finish this project and I want it to look as awesome as possible (in contrast to my previous failures in 3d modeling). So if you have any idea, that could make this project even better, feel free to share. This project is in its very beginning so a lot will be changed over the course of making. One more thing, if there's anyone skilled in Max, particularly in UVW mapping and willing to help explain a few things, please could you leave me a PM? No standard sigs this time around, but I'm planning one or two Kannagi-themed. So stay tuned! Sure I do...oh, the memories. Were total noobs back then.
