It all really depends on how you execute that idea and how it's presented, especially if it's a hard crossover to do. Assuming that it's done well, it can easily evolve into some sort of kickass/badass story that a lot of people would enjoy a lot. If not...then it becomes a really bad flop :/

Starting at page 3 of this very thread, there's some musings about a version of the VC universe with a current-day/near-future tech level; it's not, conceptually, a bad idea. Also to be found in that vicinity is a brief conversation about the story possibilities made possible by the similarity between ragnite and a certain nonterrestrial, crystalline material.
Using the CoD:MW storyline itself in VC, since you bring it up, is also theoretically possible. By all means, do share with us what you're thinking.
To clarify what I mean by taking VC and stirring well with Red Alert: an actual crossover is within the bounds of plausibility, given what chronospheres do to the space-time fabric; what also comes to mind, though, is applying the basic premise to the VC universe itself. Imagine, if you will, a scenario where the war goes poorly for Gallia - poorly enough that some folks are desperate enough to prevail upon Alicia to jump back in time (via use of a Valkyr artifact) and eliminate Maximillian before he launches the invasion. In that, the gambit works... a pity its authours - like Einstein in the RA universe - didn't consider the possible unintended consequences.

I've been playing Wolfenstein for the last week or so and its giving me an idea to what if WWII Germany had accidentally stumbled across some kind of a portal to Europa and learned about Ragnite and the Valkyrur. Maybe they might find some other use for Ragnite that the Federation, the Empire, and Gallia like they did with the Black Sun energy.

Another thing I've been trying to do is to do a proper crossover between VC and Gundam 00 S1. I've come up with two ideas:

Spoiler for Gundam 00:

1). As the 2nd Europa War began, Europa is divided into 3 factions: the Atlantic Federation, the Eastern Europan Imperial Alliance, and the Principality of Gallia. Then a group calling themselves Celestial Being appears declares its trying to eliminate all acts of war and will intervene in any conflict. The catch is its "Four Meisters" possesses GN Ragnite Weapons and powers similar to a Valkyria. And as you know, a Valkyria with a Ragnite Lance and Shield is able to single handily take on an entire army by itself.


2). The for Gundam Meisters are now members of Squad 7 with Sumeragi Lee Noriega serving as Squad 7's XO (executive officer) and Strategic Forecaster. Each of Gundam 00 characters has their own personal reasons for coming to Gallia and enlisting the Militia to preserve its independence when war breaks out.


Setsuna F. Seiei
Class: Scout

A Darcsen born in the former Republic of Krugis that was annexed by the Eastern Europan Imperial Alliance in the First Europan War. He fought as a child soldier and was saved by the intervention of a mysterious angelic figure armed with lance and shield. After this experience he escaped to Gallia was taken in by the Gunthers under the name Setsuna F. Seiei. Specializes in CQC.


Lockon Stratos
Class: Sniper

Originally from the Atlantic Federation country of Delfziji. As a young teenager, his family was killed in a terrorist attack. He moved to Gallia hoping to start a new life and leave his past behind him. An excellent marksman, he serves as one of Squad 7's NCOs and Team Leader and often plays the role of a big brother to his younger comrades.


Allelujah Haptism
Class: Shocktrooper

Formerly an orphan test subject for the Eastern Europan Imperial Alliance's secret Super Soldier Project. He and a few other test subjects escaped captivity. Unfortunately, he was the only one able to make it out alive and escape to Gallia. His personality is normally calm and gentle, and he is reluctant to take lives even when the mission demands it. However, there is another side to his character...


Tieria Erde
Class: Lancer

His origins, his personal history, and even his age are a complete mystery, but he appears to be an androgynous handsome young man in his late teens to early twenties. He is ruthlessly loyal to Gallia valuing the mission above all other issues and tolerates no deviation from its plans by his unreliable comrades.


Sumeragi Lee Noriega

The tactical forecaster and XO of Squad 7. Although she is not the Squad Leader, she is effectively second in charge of the squad. She is responsible for drafting mission plans and giving orders in response to the changing battle situation. Her lighthearted attitude contrasts with the heavy responsibility of her position and dark past.


And also antagonist characters like Graham, Sergei, or Ali show up as either part of the federation or the Empire.

A friend thought of a Wolfenstein and VC crossover that doesn't evolve dimension travel between our world and Europa:

In 2009 Wolfenstein, BJ learns about the ancient Thule Civilization that the Thule Society was named after. The Thule were ancient civilization much like the Valkyrur that mysterious disappeared in the past. It was revealed that the Thule learned to harness the power from another dimension called the "Black Sun Dimension" giving them supernatural abilities. The Thule ultimately destroyed themselves dwelling dwelling too deep in their Black Sun causing a Cataclysmic event that wiped their civilization off the map.

Their legacy was the Thule Medallion, which allows BJ to enter the Veil. The Veil is basically a barrier between our world and the Black Sun Dimension. While in the Veil, BJ is able to move much faster and able to see enemies in the dark and later even behind cover. Also he was to ability to slow down time to a near stand still which to the enemy it looks like he's moving extremely fast almost teleporting. He also has the power to create his own force field which can reflects bullets fired at him right back at the enemy and disintegrate enemies if they touch the barrier. The last ability allows him to empower his bullets turning them into beam like energy shots which can upgraded to pierce through any metal, stone, concrete and even force fields that the enemy creates.

A friend of mine had the ideal of writing a Wolfenstein and VC crossover. Where the Valkyrur had the ability to enter the Veil with their Ragnite equipment which would be represented by their blue flame-like aura. This would explain their incredible speed, defense, and limitless destructive power when firing the Ragnite lance because they're are actually drawing energy from the Black Sun Dimension. This confused a lot of people including me because the Valkyria can extract a lot of energy from their Ragnite weapons all at once, repeatedly and seemingly without depleting it. This oblivious violates the Law of Conservation of Energy which states that energy cannot just suddenly come out of nowhere or be made to disappear.

This would also explain why the Valkyrur mysteriously disappeared because they ended up destroying themselves dwelling too much into their dark research and that only very little of them exist now.

And also the protagonist could somehow acquire a Valkyrur Medallion which would give ordinary humans to ability to enter the Veil like a Valkyria and acquire similiar abilities like slowing down time, create barrier, and firing energy shots capable of piercing through a Valkyria's impenetrable shield.

I'm gonna give it brief, It's in the present, earth is headed to the brink of war and everyone has gone against everyone for power and peace is non-negotiatable. All happened back Europe in the far lands, a terrorist leader who named Makarov sent by Spetnaz only to find an special weapon that has been from the time of dawn. When he receives a tip, he heads to unknown to site, went inside to only see an young women with white hair and red eyes, amazed by this Makarov tells what's her name, but she doesn't know what her name is nor her past, but the only think she remembers her origin and basically knows her name is Selvaria. Makarov steps and kisses her and tells her "That I'm the only one who will bring you happiness" haunted by those words as she remember his King Maximillian, now as the form of the future leader named Makarov, she applies with him and goes wherever they both intend to. Meanwhile in the United States, a young women (named Maxie)comes home from her duty in Afhganistan and continues her normal life once again and about to be finishing her services from US Marines, until a phone call comes from the army telling the she has been stoploss and return to duty, but with a reason. Meanwhile in an city, an young girl walks through the streets who has been drinking liquor and sees the news on the titantron about the war between the American and Europeons trade talks and rumors of an unknown war between the US army and European Factions. Disgusted by this, she throws her bottle to the titantron and walks away to find another bottle of liquor to drown her sorrows away, does she knows that origin was the once girl as Alicia Weincott, now immortal with Valkyrie blood in her veins, now she doesn't remember her past nor that her depression continues to draw within herself.

Already I haven't watched the anime nor the game but possibly I believe that Valkyries are immortal, this not AU or anything skirmish about already I want to see how what the Valkyries contain in the present and future, I am thinking to start this fanfic by the end of the week. So I have alot hands full unless you can help me.

Anyone here remember how I once pitched out a small idea for a Valkyria Chronicles/Code Geass crossover? Well, I was watching a bit of GITS:SAC, and I came up with a few ideas.

Understand, however, that I'm not writing the story right now. At least, not until I finish my Lone Wulf one.

The story I think should take place during VC2, however the plot may go. I just think that since it's a school environment, it'd be a little more controllable than VC's plotline (and would definitely allow for humor). I don't have a really good plot for now, but I'll at least put up some character details.

As for the main character, he/she could either be male or female, I don't care which (for the sake of description, he's male). He's a bit of a loner, but also someone who trades in information (often obtained through illegal means).

MC's Geass power, which he'd receive from a VC version of C.C., is the ability to "render oneself invisible" to others. To do this, the Geass affects the optical nerves in others within a radius around the user, preventing their brains from visually processing him. In other words, he's not really invisible, but he can't be seen by others that are affected by the Geass (sort of an illusion).

The Geass, however, has a few flaws. First, it has a limited range, so it's ineffective against snipers at long range. Second, he's still actually there, so random fire could still hit him. Third, it can't affect how physical phenomenon affect him (for example, rain falling on him would expose him to others). Fourth, it only affects visuals; others can still hear, smell or feel him. Lastly, like in CG, it doesn't affect C.C. It also has limited effectiveness against Valkyria or their descendants (it works, but not as well as on normal people).

So far, that's the idea I've got. Nothing's final, but I'm just tossing it out there.

I figure that the East Europan Imperial Alliance and the Atlantic Federation (I think, fill me in), while falling into "Superpower" range, we haven't seen a United States/Soviet Union equivalent. Perhaps they caused the EW's by bribing the two sides, instead of either acting autonomously (For now, the Militarian Confederacy and Stavanian Socialist Republic will be the outside powers, with the Confederacy backing the Federation, and the Stavanians backing the Imperialists (albeit halfheartedly).)

Both nations have a "bad" side. Grey and Gray morality galore.

Thinking of doing a Maximilian and Selvaria fic, taking the war from the Imperial side.

Spoiler for story idea's:

1) Couldn't think of a good place to start, just after Naggier would be going same ground as another fic, did think of doing just after the Imperials attempt on Maximilian's life but settled on just before the invasion of Gallia as starting point.

2) Going to have news come in from the Federation/Imperial front filter in. The Imperial Forces will, at times, be led by the Crown Prince as a contrast to Maximilian own efforts. Figure the Federation will have a superior navy but land forces will be plagued by inferior equipment combined with backbitting between generals and their political masters. They will have skilled generals, superior numbers and better supply lines. Imperial Forces will eventually get in trouble, revolts to their rear and a Federation counter attack will damage the Crown Prince's standing and give Maximilian a chance to bring himself back in as a candidate for the throne.

Using random names for most generals on that front, have a few personalties in mind to flesh them out but happy for suggestions.

3) Main changes on the Gallian front will be after Naggier. Maximilian's Marmotah is discovered and scrapped by Central Command, their demands for him to return increase. Fortunately the Gallian army has taken too many casualties to want to begin a final assault so send an envoy, which allows Maximilian to negotiate a treaty to save his career. Using his spies to spread rumors of impending reinforcements and acting as if the Marmotah was due, he also further bribes Borg to back him in his plans. In exchange for marriage in a year to Cordelia and mutual trade deal, Maximilian withdraws paying only token reparations.

On the one hand, this prestigious marriage opens up possibilities for the Empire so keeps Maximilian alive while allowing him to continue his plans. On the other hand, the already unhappy Selvaria does not take the news too well with Maximilian having given her no idea of what he had planned.

4) I'm pondering either the Federation launching a massive invasion of the Empire's now unstable gains, further discrediting the Crown Prince and giving Maximilian a chance of fighting on that front or Federation attacking Gallia to prevent the marriage, forcing the Imperial Armies to return. I'm leaning towards the attack on Gallia at the moment

Oh yes they do, discounting any external interference. Would I be correct in guessing that you've seen some of my musings in this vein earlier in the thread? Let's have a look at the highlight reel...

• sheer knavery (a certain Gallian minister);
• ego-fueled idiocy (corpulent Gallian army officer who would be at home in the Federal forces in various Mobile Suit Gundam incarnations) and;
• 'black' R&D programs (Selvaria had been part of one, IIRC... and if there's one such program, others - not all of them Imperial - are likely to exist)

Thanks. This site is aiding me in my piecemeal knowledge of the VC Goings-On, which should be filled in by next year at some point.

I will delve a little deeper into Militaria and Staviania.

The Militaria Confederacy, my most creative name ever (another fictional nation of mine, North and South Selka, I do not wish to expend on VC just yet... Perhaps as a Korean/Veitnam War of sorts?), is a Military dictatorship under the guise of a democracy, who are also quite avidly Pro-Valkyria, and draw heavily from United States weapons. Often at war with Staviania.

The Stavianian Socialist Republic, a blatant Rip-off of Soviet Russia, is quite Anti-Valkyria, and sees the Imperials as "Dogs to be taught the error of their ways." Made multiple attempts on Maximillian's life, but all failed, and were subsequently blamed on Militaria. Also have no qualms about Biological and Chemical Warfare (These are the guys with GB).

How well would that work?

And on a less serious note, what about a VC/Battlefield Heroes cross?

Disclaimer: I do not own Valkyria Chronicles, nor do I own the characters in it. I also do not own the Wehrmacht, Luftwaffe, Kriegsmarine, Red Army, People's Navy, Red Air force, US Army, Army Air Corps, US Navy, the British Navy, British Army, Royal Air Force, Adolf Hitler, Benito Mussolini, Josef Stalin, Franklin Delano Roosevelt, Winston Churchill, Neville Chamberlain... you get the picture.
A/N: If you can't gather, this is basically the events of VC transposed into the events of the actual Second World War. Gallia's location sits somewhere in the Scandinavian area, a prime position for attack from Germany, the Imperials (not the Imperial Japanese, obviously), and the Soviets, the Imperial Alliance is located in east Europe, in conflict with the Soviet Union, and the Federation are the Western Allies.

June, 1935

Hitler sat across from the alleged leader of the Imperial Alliance. He seemed a bit young for the job, but the IA was located in such a manner as to buffer a Soviet attack. Not to mention, both Germany and the IA had set their sights on Gallia's vast Ragnite reserves, which would certainly aid the German war effort, though Hitler saw it mostly useful for exportation to Mussolini, who would use it to conquer North Africa.

“Maximilian,” Adolf began, “I have taken a pact between the IA and Germany into consideration, though I will not act if it goes against the wishes of Mussolini.”

The blond turned from Adolf to Benito.

The Italian nodded. “What is good for Germany,” Mussolini said, “is good for Italy.”

The three shook hands. The Axis had grew in power.

Nazi Germany, Fascist Italy, and the East European Imperial Alliance had become like soldiers, who would fight alongside each other to the bitter end.

And these three soldiers had a target in common:

Gallia, to the north, though, by Hitler's advise, Maximilian determined the time was “not right,” despite either nation outnumbering Gallian troops considerably.

-MEANWHILE, IN BRITIAN-

Neville was still quite happy with himself. He had brought, as he put it, “Peace for our time.” But, what with Nazi Germany and Fascist Italy allying themselves with the IA, he knew this could not last. Three nations stood in adjacency, The IA to the east, Italy to the south, and Germany dead center.

“Gallia. They're going to attack Gallia. When, I do not know, but they are going to attack Gallia.”

He decided that he would attempt to get Britain allied with Gallia, to deter any aggression towards it.

September, 1939

The time was right. The German and Imperial Armies had set themselves to strike small Gallia, in a lightning strike that would, if not completely conquer Gallia, would cripple it.

-MEANWHILE, JUST OUTSIDE THE GALLIAN TOWN OF BRUHL-

“Halt! In the name of the Leader, halt!” A German soldier yelled at a local girl, who wore what appeared to be a military uniform. He thought to himself, “What kind of army wears blue and red as a combat uniform?”

“Let her go, Hans. Our tanks will catch up with the Gallians soon enough.”

The soldier lowered his rifle, and slung it back over his shoulder. He climbed back into the truck, and it resumed its drive.

The girl had returned to her squad, hidden in the underbrush from overflying German planes.

“They're coming. I heard something about tanks, as well.”

“This road certainly hasn't changed much.”

Welkin Gunther walked a bit aimlessly on the road, unknowingly headed for the advancing Germans. He spotted some fish in a nearby stream.

“Hey, guys, starting early, aren't you?”

He took out a sketchpad and drew a bit, refining details in a prior drawing.

Click-Click

“Hands in the air. Slowly.”

Clack-clack

“How about you, miss?”

Welkin turned around. Behind him, a female soldier and GSR. Behind her, German Soldiers, MP38's, and Kar98k's.

“Lower your weapon, miss,” said the one with the rifle

She failed to do so.

“I said, lower your weapon!”

“...”

TWACK!

The soldier with the Kar98k brought the butt of his rifle across her face, knocking her to the ground.

“When I say, 'lower your weapon,' you lower your damned weapon!”

The two with Submachine guns pulled her up to her feet.

“Who are you? Identify yourself!”

“Leave her alone!”

Welkin couldn't believe what had came out of his mouth. Normally, he would have just let the soldiers go about their business, out of fear.

“You got something to say concerning your girlfriend here?”

Welkin gave no response. Both he and the girl turned a shade of red.

“Figured,” the soldier turned back to the girl, “Alright, miss, I recommend you talk. Who are you?”

“Alicia Melchiott, of the Bruhl town watch.”

“Finally. I thought I'd have to take you to Division. Given what they did in Czechoslovakia, you wouldn't have liked that. Unless, of course, you're a masochist.” The soldier turned to Welkin. “You may go.”

Not wanting to pick a fight with a guy with a gun, Welkin walked away quite promptly, and rapidly. But, as he did so, he turned around. He had an odd feeling about this girl, and, indeed, that something quite different was supposed to happen. The German soldiers where pushing her along at gunpoint, her rifle slung over one of the rifleman's shoulder.

He turned away from her, presumably to never see her again, shrugging the odd feeling off.

Indeed, something quite different was supposed to happen on that day.
