So many things we could talk about once more of you are up to speed with Episode 2... Mysteries and such and lots and lots of Spoilers... Dammit.

I imagine that they won't be having 12 week gaps between film releases after Film 2 comes out in June. Also they will have the discs out for that one within a month after the theater release as oppose to nearly two months for the first film.

They will have to if they plan to get everything in theaters by February.

I was just going by Production I.G's English Sales Flier, which says "April 2012 through February 2013". Whether that is completely accurate, I have no idea. The gaps from 2 through 7 are supposed to be two months apart. So, we'll see.

I acquired a copy of the theater-exclusive Blu-ray back on April 9th (I mentioned this, and also shot some photos, which I posted, a few pages back).

Okay, here are some Spoilers to get the discussion going...

Spoiler for Space Battleship Yamato: 2199 Episode 1:

What is in this mysterious capsule which is brought aboard the Yamato and placed in the "Auto Pilot Room"? Does it contain the body of Ulyssha, the second sister of Starsha? Some speculation is that she is actually Yuki Mori, since she looks so much like Sasha, who crashed and died on Mars, bringing the Earth the Wave Motion Engine Core...

Spoiler for Space Battleship Yamato: 2199 Episode 2:

On the First Bridge, by herself, Yuki is seen talking into this strange compact, saying, "I'll make it home for sure." This further underlines that she may actually be an Iscandarian — Ulyssha? — but... Since the motif color of the Gamilas is green, could she be a mole working for Gamilas? One of the Japanese spoilers says that a Gamilas general seems to know Yamato's every move before they make it. And, that the sphere of the Gamilas Empire is so vast, that they have non-Gamilas blood loyalists fighting for them (Shlutz and Ganz on Gamilas' Pluto base are from one of these conquered worlds)...

Spoiler for Space Battleship Yamato: 2199 Episode 3:

In Episode 3, a woman in a spacesuit — the hair matches Yuki's — opens an airlock on the Yamato while in Mars' orbit (where they will prepare for a Warp to Jupiter), and she throws out a bouquet of flowers (looks like Lilies)... Mars is where Sasha died and was buried, but also Mars was partially terraformed (including a sea) and was colonized by Earth — and was the site of two wars. Who is she leaving flowers for, exactly?

That's... an interesting change. The addition of one more sister is already a big thing in itself, but hinting that she's actually Yuki is surprising. Wouldn't this mean though that both Kodai and his brother have the same taste in (alien) women?

Yes! LOL! But, is this a red herring? Of all of the character profiles, they left out her place of origin. She could be a Gamilas spy... Now, that would be amazing!

Yeah, the lights inside are green wich would seem to indicate Gamilas but the device itself is golden wich would seem to indicate Iscandar. Being that they're twin planets (are they, in this new version?), there may be some technological crossover. Of course neither planet owns the colors green and gold so we have nothing conclusive there. But Yuki's statement does seem to put her on the "I'm Yurisha of Iscandar" bandwagon. Also, it makes more sense than her being the "supposed" spy. Seeing how well she's integrated in UNCF command, being a friendly emissary from an helping planet would fit, a spy from Gamilas would probably be someone in a less conspicuous position. (That security guy with the sneaky smile wins the position, IMO XD ), so my wild guess... Yuki is human. When Yurisha came to Earth she may have been injured or sick (who knows?!) so she's put on stasis inside that capsule. Not wanting to loose the wealth of information she could provide, they get her to pull a "Spock in "Wrath of Khan" mind transfer to Bones type of thing" in wich she transfers her consciousness to a living host, this being Yuki. So she is Yuki but every now and then, Yurisha comes to the surface, like in that scene. (Farfetched much?! XDDD) See this as a further correction for the Deus Ex Machina in the "Galactic Wirlpool" episode, instead of Starsha comming out of the blue and communicating with the Yamato, indicating the way out (always seemed a bit of a cop- out), it is Yuki/Yurisha that gets them out of there. But i'm getting waaaaay ahead of myself.

The character profiles suggest the third shift radar operation (the young cadet girl with twin tails) can sense the supernatural, and that the nurse can sense how others feel more easily than others.

Yutaka Izubuchi has said in an interview — one of several translated over at Starblazers.com — that there are distinctive color motifs in this version, which is why I made that extrapolation: "Between Earth, Gamilas, and Iscandar, I'll be glad if you pay attention to the use of color by each camp."

Personally, I'm hoping it's some more along these lines... Here's another Spoiler from an unnamed Japanese source, which may not be official: "ULYSSHA ISCANDAR: Came to Earth with the plan for the Wave-Motion Engine and a message from Starsha one year before Yamato's launch. Her subsequent fate is unknown, but a coffin containing her body is placed in a secret room on Yamato. One of the purposes of Yamato's voyage is to deliver her to Iscandar. She seems to have the same face as Yuki Mori." If this is true, who is the Mole...? Or is there one at all?

If they are making such a big deal about Ulyssha's body — bringing the coffin/capsule aboard the Yamato and into her "Auto Pilot Room" — why did they leave Sasha's body on Mars? This supports the notion that the capsule is maintaining Ulyssha's body, and perhaps Yuki is "possessed" by her spirit?
