Actually, the anime is 26 episodes long with episodes 25 & 26 being DVD only episodes. However, they will also be available on Crunchyroll in addition to the DVDs. (That's how we found out for sure about eps 25 & 26. Crunchyroll announced that they will carry those 2 episodes.)

As for Baccano!, Durarara!!! is one hell of a twist that looks like a jigsaw puzzle.
Each character is a piece of the puzzle and, once together, you got a full scene. But the finished puzzle doesn't answer all question, but only those related to the scene. That's why people wants more after watching it. The way how Narita Ryougo actually make this kind of stories is quite good in a chaotic theoric way. The story take place on an unstable and dangerous ground. (For Durarara!!!, it's a city once rulled by gangs where people can desapear like if it was nothing.) Each character got a place to act, but once their role ended, they might or not continue to live, but they won't appear again as a character, but as simple casts, making people thinking about tons of questions about their stories. For now, we got the pieces related to the character, but we just have a glipse at what the ending might be related to. In other words, the cast and actors are on the scene, but we're still in the dark about the script. (Izaya, the most dark and mysteriously bad character, have been the only one who actually gave a hint, which may be revealed as useless in the upcoming episode thought.) Baccano! was my favorite anime overall. (Personnal opinion) Durarara!!! might come next. |

It seems really short and much softer than the previous OP, almost laid back in comparison. Odd considering it sounds like the story is just getting started but I guess it'll work out nicely.

I read some of the comments about the OP and apparently the translations suit Anri, Mikado and Kida's relationship or to be more specific Mikado and Kida's relationship which will be on the fore front in the next arc.
