I really liked the episode. As others have said, I'm impressed how Shaft is able to animate a book that is really mainly just people talking. Artistic scenery combined with an ever changing soundtrack make each scene enjoyable, even if it's almost a powerpoint presentation.

It's interesting to see also how the style has changed from Bakemonogatari. There are less real-life scenes admixed into the animation (like the plates of real food, real human hands, etc). The narration cards have changed in length and colors.

I wonder if we'll see that shorter blade appear again? (No spoilers please, I'm just talking to myself)

Monogatari also asks some very interesting questions. Such as, what would someone do if they accidentally became a god? Or what would a child do if they accidentally became a god (Nadeko's case)?

A Western story would tell a story of someone abusing their power or make it into a comedy of sorts, but Nisio tells the story in a way that a normal person might actually act.

Nisio's stories are true stories. Morals are spoken of, characters have bias, and characters lie and leave things out, just as if a real story was being told by someone you know.

I think next week will be the last episode for this arc, based on the content of the latest episode (that was leaked).

The novel has enough content for five episodes. If only four are produced and animated, then they are editing out too much of the conversations, which is what makes Nisio Isin stories so great!

You better read it again. As far as I remember the whole story, looking by how far the plot progressed in the latest episode, I'd say next week still be the last one.

Spoiler for length:

Not so inaccurate according to wikipedia.

You would have appreciated the story a lot more if you had read Kizumonogatari.
