Well I suppose you have a point now that I think about it, their outfits are a little slutty.

Though they get points for acctually looking like something a witch would use for her cronies.

The Siestas....not so much.

Don't worry about the Siestas and her outfits, the Umineko's Queen of Fanservice has just gone shopping and is ready for her aparition next arc, that's what you'd call a walking fetish, you'll rcognise her when you see her, doubtlessly. She's Beato's best friend after all

The Siestas are kind of like advanced weaponry, the surface guided heat-seeking missiles of magical furniture. That's why they have start up sequence, because it doesn't matter if their prey gets away, they can locate them, track them down, and pin them no matter what.

It is said that there is no escape from the Siestas' attacks, and they can even locate targets from far parts of the island and retrieve the corpses of whom they've killed.
Anyway, the Stakes are just excuses for fanservice, too, you know.

Weird might have actually gotten attached to those stakes after all this time. Probably some sympathy since they did get beaten. Anyways was pretty nice to see people with firearms actually winning. I've felt a little bad for those guns since they've only taken down some goatmen at this point. Rudolf and Kyrie put up a great fight and made it pretty interesting to watch. Wouldn't have expected such a past in regards to Kyrie. Having the guy she liked stolen and the stillborn child.

No surprise in regards to the anger of Battler. Agree that the approach Beato has been taking wasn't going to work. Going about it the way she has will just force Battler to dig in his heels and put up an even more determined resistance. Will see how the apology goes next episode.
The stakes are close combat attackers. The Siestas are long range attackers. What makes the Siestas more deadly is because once they're locked on, escape is near impossible. 97.89% accuracy. You can't block their shot.

Kanon blocked Lucifer in stake form by sacrificing his hand. That won't work with the Siestas. Their single arrow went through Rudolf and into Kyrie. The force of their arrow is several times greater.

All the furnature is some sort of fetish in this series...its just something one has to deal with. Even Kanon and Shannon could be considered a fetish of some sort, but definately all of the witchs' furnature are or will be some form of fetish.

The 'perfect servant' fetish ;)~~

But yeah Stakes and Siesta designs are just literally screaming fanservice. See this is why I don't mind ass or boob shots of them, because they are designed with that purpose. I rather have them being whored than Jessica or Shannon.

Jessica maybe, but Shannon is still technically "furnature" and a maid, which is its own fetish. Kanon...I'm trying to decide what he is...angsty boy I suppose.

This image of girls and women (and maybe even men) drooling at Genji will be stuck forever.

I agree...but thanks to the anime I can understand why a few others and me were discussing that Kanon was scared of big boobs (especially blonde and busty *cough*Beato/Jessi*cough*). I would be scared and scarred if I had to be around Jessica, Shannon and Natsuhi with such ehm melons around me everyday. The poor boy is doomed to become either scared of women with big breasts and become gay or become a pervert.

Well that's certainly a pain . Just different styles of weapons I suppose. Still think the in close weakness is a problem. It's fine if the enemies are running but if they charge it seems like the Siestas would get owned before they could get a shot off. Of course not like you'd just leave heat-seeking missiles alone to get hit, but Evatrice doesn't seem to have much sense in strategy. She didn't really consider the strengths and weaknesses of the individual stakes (assuming they do vary), and then she just stands there like an idiot forcing one to save her.

Though not sure the long winded firing sequence was necessary since they were just firing down a hallway. Not like there was much room for evasion anyways.

On a side note can those stakes even be harmed while in stake mode? They can control their movements so it seems the only loss they have in comparison is the weaker piercing power.

But yeah not saying the Siestas suck just that I wasn't 'that' impressed. Still in long distance assassinations they are top class.

Anyway, it's interesting to find out that the whole reason Beato started this game in the first place was to get Battler to acknowledge she was a witch.

And she seemed very upset when Battler refused to accociate with her any longer, which is kind of unexpected given her personality up to this point.

All in all, the Siestas were the only exasperating thing about this episode.

Well there's really no reason to deny that Ryukishi is creating fetish characters. Since Higurashi that Angel Mort uniform was way beyond the level of decency and realism. Plus loli, big breast and so on. Not to mention miniskirts, sexy maid outfits, absolute territory... and the most indecent dress as yet to appear.

Anyway that apart, don't think that bunny ears are there without a reason. Maybe there's no reason for them to be cute girls, but there's a reason for them to be bunnies.

It's that women's intuition again.

Evatrice is an idiot. For real. She's like a little kid who think she's immortal. She's like ... balloon boy. (Sorry ... reference to today's stupid events in the US.)

I'm pretty sure this is okay to post here, but this is the translation of the firing sequence text from the VN, which someone just posted in the VN thread. The anime version is different only in that they mixed in some Russian with the Greek, but apparently the content is basically the same.

So I take it there's an actual REASON they have those bunny ears then?

If that's the case then my respect for Siestas has been increased, but I still like the Stakes more.

And just so I can get this across, I have nothing against fanservice nor fetishes as long as they are used at the right time. It only exasperates me when it comes up when it's completely uneeded.

Well 410's ears sort of perked a little when she said they were preparing to fire (before the entire black and red sequence appeared) so maybe their ears have some kind of function that helps them?

Back when episode 8 aired, people thought the stakes were ridiculous. They grew to care for them.
