Interesting but, frankly, I'm more interested in seeing these games translated than reading about their history.

The more I know about them the more it pisses me off I can't play them.

Do you see any problem here? I don't! Even why, nowadays we have many mainstream (non-h**) anime shows with seminude scenes who don't upset anyone.

IF the media had keep that s****y big mouth of theirs shut down, GAINAX had released PRINCESS MAKER 2 in USA, and MAYBE other bishoujo games after that. And IF the american Bishoujo games market had begun that time with GAINAX, MAYBE other big bishoujo games companies for PC and console - like Elf, F&C, Age, Studio E-Go, etc. - had put their eyes in the american market, and tried to release their Bgames in USA too!

I find that strange. Considering that probably 99% of the bishoujo games translated contain pornographic material and they even sell the game with the feature that it's uncensored.

Many good Japanese games have a non-ero version, those still aren't translated.

That aside, other people suck.

I remember princess maker 2. Great game, it was a lot of fun, but i don't remember any nudity unless you used a cheat. In any event, I find it odd that this would kill the market when most of these games that do make it over are the pure hentai ones that limit the plot to excuses for the main character to have sex. Damn companies I want kgne!!! but without that ending for the green haired nurse please. *runs and hides*

There was some slight nudity, when at the beach, and slight see-through for the girl's clothes in one or two of the beach vacation pictures. Those were censored in the English version (clothes were painted where there were none, see-through wet t-shirt made non see-through). Someone released a "patch" of sorts, taking a few files containing the untampered images from the Chinese version, and you just over-wrote the English files. Also corrected a missing vacation image that didn't contain nudity, but probably was missing because of a bug or something. The ending picture with nudity (mistress ending, shows breasts and ass, if memory serves me) was uncensored in the English version too, I believe.

Anyway, it was very minor, but hey... we're talking about the country that went into an outrage at the sight of Janet Jackson's nipple. It's a miracle people reproduce at all over there (no offense to Americans with some actual common sense, and I do know you exist. Too bad you're not in any influential government positions).

ever seen the show Saturday Night Live? If so, do you remember a sketch performed by Dana Carvey (a man if you didn't know) known as "Churchlady", it depicted, humorously, an old lady (played Dana Carvey) who was an extreme "holyroller" i.e. imposing her religious beliefs (which include labeling famous celebrities as workers of the devil) on others on her fake TV show.
that sketch brought forth my "label" of "churchlady" i.e. someone who goes to ridiculous extremes to only see what they want to see, these are the people behind censoring TV, they're the people who freaked out over Janet Jackson, they're the people who tried/are trying to get shows like South Park canceled (heh, and getting made fun of by the show for it) and they're also the people who banned/burned Harry Potter and Pokemon for insane reasons.
these are the people keeping KGNE, Kanon, Da Capo, Air, Wind, To Heart, comic party, etc. games from coming to the US through a legitimate venue. They're the people responsible for the 100% lack of "A-O" rated games on the market (meanwhile the movie industry is going around releasing "unrated" versions of their movies which had worse content than any light-h bishoujo game in existence (there are exceptions) to begin with
it's absolutely shocking that no companies have bothered to bring over any of the console versions of the games...probably because the stereotype (which is, sadly, correct more often than not) for american gamers is that we like ridiculously violent games. You can portray a guy ripping an entire town of innocent women and children to pieces but even IMPLY sex and you get hammered by the media (GTA3's most cited reason why it's "evil" is the situation where you let a hooker hop into the car, the car shakes, your health is replenished and some money taken, the hooker gets out, and you then run her over and take your money back...meanwhile other games have you disemboweling people and/or creating huge pools of blood...granted GTA3 also had the blood and savage beatings)
