In all seriousness, I've been waiting for this game since 2006 like many other people,I've expecting it to come out shortly after XIII was released, I think even that game took longer to come out than expected.

You mean you don't see it? Considering what happened to her in the last Lightning DLC and how her looks has similarity with Serah, I don't doubt that SE will somehow makes her has connection with Serah using whatever plot they could come up with.

The article author explained that they are "trying something new" with 13-3. But why? If only 3.1 million people bought 13-2, what made them think they can increase that number via another sequel?

I am always prepared to give SE another chance, but why start something new in a sequel?
Would they not be better off just starting a new story?

I mean, what's the purpose of direct sequels? To entice satisfied customers to have more of the same. If only 3.1 million people bought 13-2, to make 13-3 seriously different just seems counter-productive. Or is it that they don't think the 13-2 game mechanics wasn't good enough?

Wishful thinking : This gameis just a testing bed for Square to use the perfected version for next numbered FF or a new franchise. The reason they make rhis as sequel is to ensure there's enough right people(ff diehard fans) to try it out and give feedback.

Pessimist thinking : They just try to wring the title completely fry before moving on.

i wish they just go back to having a group of nine or so plp traveling around..the last game only had 2 god that was boring but now it looks like theres only going to be one...

This game takes place long after Final Fantasy XIII-2, right? I think Lumina is Serah's descendant.

Because it's cheaper to produce by reusing assets, of course.
