As long as they keep following the manga, i don't see this degrading too much, unless they go for some strange anime only ending. That said, i would like to see a few changes, at times the manga feels a bit rambling, with too many side characters that you never really care about.

Depending where they decide to end the season at, there's far too much material to be worrying about them adding anime only filler lol

Well that's what I hope too, the manga is fine story wise so as long as they don't go jacking around with the canon we're cool. That being said animation companies do stupid things every year so.....

Just going to drop my speculation on the origin of the Titans.

Somehow it is linked to the death of humans. My belief is that every "fallen" is somehow re-animated as a titan, which explains why blondie-san immediately backed out when he saw the titan who devoured mom-san.

Well Jump did try to change his story. I'm pretty sure his success was a big middle finger to Shonen Jump since you know, they thought his story wouldn't be popular enough.

it won't fit to weekly shounen jump anyway, of course they asked him to revise it...wrong story for wrong magazine regardless its popularity now

I should have been clearer. What I meant was exactly that: that the Japanese seems at first sight to refer to the giants attacking, not humans attacking back -- although I guess the story intends to show how they do.

After first ep I'm sure its a *must watch* of this season. Probably one of the better ones this season. Other animes are either moe blob, rom com, romances, and mecha animes. This one seems to have a good story and is not about sister/moe/romance/mecha like the rest of stuff so far released this season.

Oh futurama, providing us the best sexy giant comedy in the past decade

The Opening like 5 minutes to the first episode though really got you pumped, first with the epic music and then the epic op, haven't been that excited in the first 5 minutes of a show in awhile.

So is the show going to be 2 Cours then? I hadn't heard anything about the length of it yet so I have been wondering.

Morphing to human size to Titan size and back is pretty ridiculous and unscientific...
